- Los Tuneles - The tour of the Tunnels lasts approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. During this tour, the boat navigates through the tunnels, offering a clear view of the stunning landscape. The journey includes a visit to Roca Unión, a small islet in the open sea, where you can observe Pelicans, Nazca Boobies, and Blue-footed Boobies, along with the occasional sea lion resting on the rocks.
The boat ride to the breathtaking rocky lava formations of the Galapagos, known as the tunnels, takes about 45 minutes. These formations were created when lava flowed underground during ancient eruptions, forming tunnels that later collapsed, creating arches over the water. Here, you can see vegetation emerging from the rocks, crystal-clear water, and sea lions playing between the arches. Snorkeling opportunities include encounters with sea turtles, “tintoreras” sharks, golden rays, eagle rays, seahorses, and various fish such as surgeonfish and damselfish. After completing these activities, the tour returns to Isabela.
