WJ vacations cancelled our trip last minute - Trip was cancelled last minute by WJ. Thankfully we purchased this trip through trip advisor not Vallarta adventures direct. Trip advisor gave us a full refund on the excursion. We had another excursion booked through Vallarta Adventures directly , and they had charged us a cancellation fee, and would not even entertain the idea of waving it

Super fun - beautiful, clean, well organized and entertaining! - So so fun!!! Highly recommend. I give this tour and the staff 20 stars - possibly the best part of our entire trip. Good for adults and kids. It is a much longer boat ride than I anticipated but the staff was so attentive and entertaining.

The tour was well organized & we felt we got very good value for the cost. We would go again next year. - My husband & I thoroughly enjoyed our Yelapa and Majahuitas BBQ tour. The tour was well organized, and we felt we got good value for the cost. We booked on line for a discount. A snack of fruit and pastry was served. We had excellent weather. The boat goes very fast - the view from the 2nd four is excellent, but very very windy. I would try to sit near the front, but on the lower floor. Be sure to take sunscreen & maybe a cover up. We stopped in 4 spots: 1A beach where we rode a double sided “Banana”. I was hesitant, but I’m glad I went. It was exciting. Free beer & fruit type non-alcohol drinks at the beach. 2A cove where those who wanted to could snorkel. Snorkels were provided. We could see the fish from the boat. Friends who snorkelled said there was lots of fish. 3Yelapa - it is maybe 200 yards walk to the beach loungers. Some people stayed on the boat in order to go and hike to the waterfall. I think you could stay on the boat if you have mobility issues. Also, we didn’t see any of the town from the beautiful beach. Our friends saw more on their walk to the falls. I think the drinks were free on the beach, but not sure, because we didn’t have any. We went into the water a couple of times. We had our picture taken with a huge iguana. Be careful to ask costs first. NB we were told $100p, then after he took the pictures with our phone, he said $100 EACH. I stuck to the price he said before the pictures - he didn’t make a fuss, & I paid him $100p. 4Last stop Majahuitas Beach BBQ - The buffet included chicken breast, bbq ribs, pasta, salads, rice, bread, & dessert. I thought the buffet was good. Free beer and non- alcoholic fruit drinks served. The boat was large and had pretty good toilets (made me not concerned about having a few drinks). The bar had 2 types of margaritas plus other drinks e.g. rum. I had a few kaluha & milk - delicious with lots of kaluha! An excellent day! My husband and I would consider taking this tour again next year.

The places you go are... - The places you go are amazing, but it's rushed and unclear what is happening the entire time. If you want more beach time or snorkeling time, don't do this tour. It's just enough time to day you did it and then move on. Waterfall hike is pretty easy and underwelming. Walking through the village of Yelapa was very interesting and I enjoyed that more than the waterfall itself.

I hate leaving bad reviews but - At first glance it seems like a lot of fun and it probably would’ve been if my child (10yrs) didn’t get badly hurt trying to snorkel. In their webiste it states “Whether you’re new or experienced, our guides will show you how to use the snorkeling gear and lead you to the top spots for Yelapa snorkeling.” First of all they do NOT teach you anything. They just hand you the equipment and literally make you jump into the ocean without any lessons or anything. It was going to be our first time snorkeling so we were all nervous when the tour guide told us we had to be excellent swimmers and have to be experienced. Since they were going to drop us off at the snorkel spot and then we had to swim ourselves to the beach, which was a good distance. Total opposite of what they advertise, And they rush you to go in the ocean. When my child was going to go in the water, she got couldn’t get the flippers to work properly since we weren’t taught anything, and she started drowning, with the life jacket on. And the one of the tour guides instead of helping her he was getting mad saying she’s doing it wrong?? My husband had to jump into the ocean to get her and even he had trouble with the flippers. Then when one of the guys finally helped my daughter, as he pulled her out the water he scrapped her legs up against the boat and this caused her to start bleeding like crazy and when another guest pointed out that her legs were bleeding a lot the guide looked annoyed at him for announcing it. Then he didn’t want to give us any medical attention and the way they handled the whole situation was very poorly. Plus she wasn’t the only one that got hurt, when people got back into the boat after snorkeling, they all had cuts on their legs and arms. The whole experience was very upsetting and unpleasant. Shout out to the only tour guide (I think his name was Francisco) that did try helping us out, and stayed attentive to us throughout the rest of the trip. And when they take you to Yelapa on the website it states “ In Yelapa, you can stroll the village, visit the waterfall (especially in the rainy season), try local "Yelapa pie," shop for handmade crafts, or relax at beachfront restaurants.” But we did not get the option to walk around the village. They only gave us 2 options: 1. Go on a vigorous hike to the waterfall or 2. Stay on the beach. When we opted for the beach we wanted to explore the village, per their website, but they didn’t let us leave the beach. So we were just stuck there on the beach and had to wait for the group that went on the hike to be back. And then at the end of it we get a buffet style lunch, but the food was bad, very little options, and it was a rushed meal. We have booked tours before with Vallarta Adventures but this was the last time. Very bad experience. Book at your own risk.
