- Gringo Gulch - Known as Puerto Vallarta’s oldest expatriate neighborhood, Gringo Gulch is where Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor once resided. Along with Colonia el Cerro, Gringo Gulch is part of the traditional Puerto Vallarta.
- Zona Romántica - Zona Romantica is among the most traditional areas in Puerto Vallarta. “Playa de los Muertos” was the original docking site for the Love Boat. A visit here offers a glimpse into this historic area, where some episodes of the Love Boat TV series were filmed.
- Carretera Costera a Barra de Navidad - The guide will drive along this picturesque coastal road, highlighting favorite beaches and coves. As the journey continues beyond the city, beautiful jungle vegetation emerges, where orange-fronted parakeets, blue jays, parrots, and other stunning mountain birds may be spotted.
- Mirador Playa Mismaloya - Mismaloya is the beach where the 1963 film “The Night of the Iguana” was shot, a movie that brought Puerto Vallarta to fame. The guide will pause here briefly for photo opportunities.
- Mama Lucia - This stop includes a visit to Lucia’s family tequila distillery, which has been crafting tequila and raicilla for three generations. It’s a wonderful opportunity to learn about tequila production and enjoy a special tequila tasting.

Ceravado is the Best! - I hope we spelled his name correctly but Ceravado is really the best. We are mother and daughter travellers (48 and 73) who are not in ideal shape. We are also pretty low key when it comes to food and alcohol so he had his hands full trying to figure us out. But he did just that, he gave us the main highlights, walked us through a market and taught us so many things about his culture. He was so respectful and helped us in and out at every stop, he is so very kind.
He really made it a “private tour” no pressure to shop at a jewelry store or take you to a tequila tasting (unless you want to). It really was a choose your own adventure and it was lovely.

Best decision for site seeing with children! - Our tour guide, Pepe (Jose), was very knowledgeable and accommodating for our private tour yesterday. We got to know some of the history and culture of the town, see the sights, take some amazing pictures, and many laughs too.
This was by far the best decision we made to book a tour and were absolutely blessed to be matched with our fabulous guide! His English was impeccable, an expert and safe driver, and so wonderful to our 9 month old baby and 3 year old.
It gave us an idea of areas we would like to spend more time in to explore.

We highly recommend this... - We highly recommend this tour of Puerto Vallarta with Cervando. In addition to showing us the landmarks of the city, he brought us to a vibrant local market that we never would have found on our own. His historical knowledge of the city made our tour so enjoyable and meaningful.

We had a fantastic half-day tour of Puerto Vallarta with Cervando! He was knowledgeable, friendly, and shared great insights into the island’s history, culture, and hidden gems. Perfect balance of sightseeing and local perspective—highly recommend this tour and Cervando as a guide.

Puerto Vallarta tour - Our guide, Cervando promptly picked us up from our hotel in a spacious clean van. He helped cater the tour based on my family’s interests. I would highly recommend him as he took great care of us and provided tremendous insight into the town and history of Puerto Vallarta. He was also a safe and excellent driver.

Cervando is the most wonderful guide ever! - This was a fantastic trip. I had so much fun. Cervando will show you the real Puerto Vallarta. He's a wonderful guide and grew up in the area - so he can authentically tell you about the past as well as the present. I would never use any other guide in Puerto Vallarta.

Fun Day in Puerto Vallarta! - Great overview of the zones (neighborhoods) of Puerto Vallarta. Option to customize, and Cesar was very accommodating. We chose to do a walking tour of the cobblestone hills of old Puerto Vallarta, crossing the river, struggling through parks and squares, visiting the Lady of Guadalupe church, and finally down to the boardwalk. There are amazing sculptures along that area.
Cesar then drove us to self Puerto Vallarta through the resort area in we stopped at a local beach.
It was a great day.
Tip: if you’re on a ship, it may come in at a different pier from where the tour of operators meet guests. There is a free shuttle that drops off at pier 1 where the exit is located and most of the tour guides meet guests.
Cesar did a great job and even sent us some photos of our day.

Great experience with a caring local guide - We had an outstanding introduction to Puerto Vallarta with a guide who paid attention to our interests and cared for all possible details. He wanted us to have a wonderful day and he succeeded. He surpassed our expectations in terms of service. We felt a friend was showing us his beloved town.
