Highly Recommend the Pueblo Culinary Day Trip - We had such a wonderful day with Carla as our tour guide and Nedy as our driver. Carla was as sweet as could be and very attentive the entire day. Her English was fabulous and she interacted with every guest. She made us feel very welcomed and she did a great job presenting information throughout the day. She told us all about the Coco farm, told us all about the different things we were seeing along the way and then was our guide as we were preparing our meals. I would highly recommend Carla and the tour. It was a lovely day. The tour van was also very nice and air-conditioned. We got a flat tire and they got us back on the road in probably 15 minutes or less. It was handled very professionally. Kudos to Carla, Nedy and Vallarta Adventures!

Good experience for something different - Entertaining field trip to a Cacao farm, an old town square an outdoor restaurant where we contributed by making some of the sauces for the meal. Finished the day off with movie theme song trivia in the bus. We didn't stop for honey tasting, not sure why, maybe that is seasonal. Diego was an entertaining host. They ask for tips for the kitchen and the host/driver so its best to consider that when tipping to give the guys you are with all day a bigger piece of the tip.

Very informative but a long day - We did 3 excursions while we were visiting and this was unfortunately my least favorite. This was not the fault of the tour guide, Franco, or our driver Santiago. They were amazing and they were both very knowledgeable. We were looking for a more intimate experience and thought we would be getting to make ALL of the food. I think the man who was helping us book excursions maybe misunderstood what we were looking for. The day started off mid morning where we headed to a cacao farm which was really cool but the farm really wasn’t big enough to fit all the tour groups that were there so it was crowded and hard to hear. Our group was 15 people which I wasn’t expecting. The next stop was a tortilla factory which was also really cool but I felt bad because the other people in our group were completely oblivious to the fact that the locals still needed to purchase tortillas despite us being there for a tour and they wouldn’t move out of the way. We walked from the tortilla factory to the village square where Franco talked about the festival the town was preparing for. We got to walk around on our own for a bit so we took that opportunity to get ice cream which was DELICIOUS and the boy behind the counter did his absolute best to speak in English which I did not expect but I did appreciate. After the town square we went to a honey shop where we learned about all the different kinds and applications of honey. I’m a big fan of honey so this was my favorite stop. I wish I would have purchased more honey. I believe it was after this stop that we headed out to the ranch where we got some refreshments (alcohol, hibiscus juice, and a lime cilantro juice). It was at this point that I thought we would start making the food but we didn’t. We sat around for a little bit and waited for 2 more buses of 15 people to pull up. There was a total of 45 of us so I was only able to help make the sopes. I did not expect there to end up being 45 people at the end of the day. The other two ladies I was with and myself all thought we would all be making our own guacamole, salsa, etc but with 45 people that just wasn’t possible. These people did not understand that just because you have gloves on doesn’t mean you can’t get germs on them. As soon as the other tourists got their gloves on, they immediately started touching their face and butt and everything else. There wasn’t anything to do while we waited for the food to be ready to eat so I would recommend the organizers bringing yard games or inform the participants to bring yard games or something. The thing that made this tour not so great for us was the amount of other tourists and the other tourists in general. They were rude, had no sense of personal space, or self awareness. I don’t know how the tour guides do this every day. One day around those people was more than enough for me. By the end of the day we were all very overstimulated and overheated. I think Vallarta Adventures should offer a package that has smaller group limit. It was the amount of other tourists and the way the other tourists behaved that ruined the experience for us. ie. I overheard other tourists making fun of the tour guides accents (not just Franco) and trying to correct whatever word they used that wasn’t 100% correct.
