A WONDERFUL TRIP, I WILL SURELY REPEAT IT - Visiting Punta Cana was a great experience, one of those you really enjoy and remember. I'd like to repeat it and visit the many places I missed. Punta Cana has a beautiful beach, although to tell the truth I like the one in Varadero in my beautiful Cuba better, with its blue sea and fine white sand. They offer excursions ranging from the adrenaline rush of ziplining through a forest at high altitude, to the fun of riding a mud-covered buggy, to the relaxing ocean crossing to Saona Island, to the exciting night at the Coco Bongo nightclub where you can party hard. But the best thing about Punta Cana is its warmth, the lovely people there, they make you feel at home and that is appreciated. And if we're talking about wonderful people, I can't help but mention KILLY ALCALA, our representative from NEXUSTOUR, who took us by the hand from the moment we were welcomed at the airport and guided us throughout our stay. KILLY is attentive, helpful, concerned and has a smile that brightens the day. He's the kind of person you thank God for knowing. I remember that on one occasion the driver of one of the trucks that was supposed to take us on an excursion didn't wait for us, and it wasn't because we had arrived late to the hotel lobby but because he couldn't find us and we were sitting there waiting for someone to call us, but they never did or we didn't hear them, which was strange because four of us were deaf, and he left without us. We called Kelly and shortly after she sent us another transport so we could enjoy the excursion, she solved the problem. I hope NEXUSTOUR has many KILLYs on its staff.

Anniversary Trip - Very comfortable ride, nice being able to get on the free wifi. Driver was awesome and the guide was very funny. Great air-conditioning on the bus as well.

Couples party retreat - Great host Ricardo. Very enjoyable to be around. Great on bus entertainment and information prior to arriving at hotel. Hotel was entertaining lots of things to do during down time.

Nexus was amazing - Nexus Tours was a great experience during our vacation in the DR. Guys at the airport were on point and rep Reynaldo was really helpful at Lopesan too. Would highly recommend them for future trips.

Friendly Service - Gary Garcia was very helpful and friendly with assisting me. Scheduling transfer service was good. He was able to fix the issues.

Thankfully, there are other options that we can consider in the future.. and it won't be Nexus. - Sadly, my experience with Nexus Tours was quite subpar and I will not use them again for a private airport transfer. We had booked private return transportation through Nexus after seeing their affiliation with Marriott. When we arrived around 10PM, we stood at the desk while the representatives scrambled to find someone to help us. We were brought out to the parking lot and stood there... and stood there. There was NO driver to be found. The guy who brought us out to the parking lot wandered away (to find someone?) and we were left alone to wait. The whole time we stood there with our kids, we were hassled by shady individuals handing us business cards saying stuff like "I can get you ANYTHING you want....". It didn't feel very safe. It took 45 minutes for a driver to finally show up. He grumbled something about our plane being late (it wasn't) and how he had waited for us for over half an hour before he had to take another fare and then come back for us. Jeez, sorry about that. For our return trip from the resort to the airport, we went to the lobby 30 mins before the scheduled departure time and spoke with a Nexus rep that was down there. He did not have us on his list and, again, it seemed very disorganized. A driver arrived about 15 minutes later to take another couple to the airport. The rep explained that we could either go with this non-private option now, or wait until a driver could come for us. "It's up to you" he said. "We can get you to the airport on time, or you can wait for a private driver". After our arrival experience, I was not about to wait. We took the "now" option and crowded into the vehicle with others. I wrote to Nexus after our trip to let them know that the experience had fallen short of expectations and no one replied. I guess they already had our money and just didn't care. Just know that Nexus Tours might advertise one thing and then provide another when you actually get there. There is seemingly no repercussions for giving you service that is less than what you expected. Thankfully, there are other options that we can consider in the future.. and it won't be Nexus.
