The map and info was... - The map and info was perfect. Enjoyed the sights. The only thing is the walk from dock to where we picked up the buggy. Should have someone at the dock to take you to the buggy

So much fun even for old ladies! - Bring a change of clothes and leave them in a locker. The clothes you wear will become a muddy mess. The people running it are very nice. It is so much fun and I am 69 years old!

10/10 worth getting muddy!! - This was awesome!! Please understand, you will get gross!! I mean head to toe covered in mud and water, and it is so worth it!! The stop in the little town is very cool. The beach stop is good to rinse off. We are both in our 40âs and have a 17 and 13 year old, and said it was as awesome of an excursion that weâve done!!

Fun adventure but with poor equipment - The event was fun. People running the trip were very nice and helpful. The buggies lacked basic maintaince. The seat belt was very rusted looked like it was pulled from the sea. The brakes were bare metal and going down hills we did not slow down even with the brake pedal all the way to the floor. I wish we would have adventured into more jungle areas but stayed on local dirt roads that many car traveled on. The little rest stop was nice. The person running the stand was friendly and provided a shot of their wine (Mamajuana) and gave a demonstration of cigar rolling. They provided a sample cigar to try before the sales pitch. The sales tactics were reasonable and not too much pressure. I think with a little more adventure and better maintained equipment it would have been a great experience

A fun experience close to Amber Cove Cruise Port - The overall experience was fun but it was not organised very well. Pick up was from outside the main entrance at Amber Cove Cruise Port and was only a 5 minute drive, but when we arrived, it took 45 minutes to get everyone ( a group of 15 people) signed in and fitted with helmets. Well spent so much time waiting around and became frustrated.
When we finally set off, we had 2 hours on the buggy which was great, and weâd had a lot of rain so the roads were extra muddy and full of puddles which made it so much more fun as we were plastered in mud. After being taken to a local place for some refreshments of coffee or hot chocolate, we then had a brief cigar making demonstration which was interesting. After this, we then went to a local beach to wash off the mud, which we didnât know would happen and didnât take any swim wear or towels so couldnât take part. Take towels and a change of clothes with you.
Showers and changing rooms are provided at the buggy base and thereâs also a food truck. It once again took everyone over 45 minutes to shower and change, and then majority of people decided to get food, meaning those who didnât want to eat had to sit around waiting which as frustrating again. I ended up asking the staff to take us back to port as we had other plans, and it had massively overrun the alloted 3 hours stated in the description. A recommendation to the staff would be to ask people who would like to go back and those who would like to stay for food to be fair on everyone.

Worst excursion we have ever had - Unfortunately, this was the worst excursion we have ever had. We were notified by the company just a few days before the cruise that they wouldnât be able to drive down the river or go to the beach because it was a holiday. They gave us the option for a refund or to still go but take different trails. Since it was last minute, we didnât have time to book anything else and decided to keep it.
The picked us up early and shuttled us over to their location. Everything was downhill from there.
When we arrived at their warehouse, no instructions were given. After standing around about 10 minutes in a room with lockers and tables, we were told to head out to the buggies. When we asked if we should put our stuff in lockers, they just shrugged. When we asked about goggles and helmets, they told some people they didnât have them and told others they cost extra, but didnât give any out. We all then went to the buggies and got in.
Their method of starting them was to twist a pair of bare wires together above the steering wheel, then carried a spare batter from buggy to buggy while they jump started them with an oil dipstick. They couldnât get 2 of the 18 or so buggies started, and everyone was just sitting there for 20 minutes in a line breathing the exhaust of the buggy in front of them while they tried to get the other 2 started. On the good side, it gave everyone a chance to share driving instructions since they only told about 1/3 of the people how to operate the buggy.
After about 30 minutes a few people were asking about refunds and they finally brought around 2 spare buggies to replace the 2 that wouldnâtâ start. Then when we finally went to leave in the buggies, a 3rd one died and wouldnât start. After another 10 minutes of fiddling with that one, they brought another spare buggy around. We finally left about 40 minutes late.
After driving through the river a few times and getting covered in mud and water, which was great, we stopped at a little place that sold drinks and souvenirs. It was less than advertised and no one was interested in buying anything. The guide then came over and gave us goggles saying he forgot to give them to us, even though we asked. Other people saw us getting goggles and asked and they were told they didnât have enough or their package didnât include it. At this point we werenât sure why we needed goggles since we already got covered head to toe in river water and mud, but we accepted and put them on. We drove down a dirt road with a few mud puddles on the side they wanted us to swerve off the road to hit with tires. I noticed while we were driving the rearof the car kept wobbling then would fishtail to the side. I would have to oversteer to keep us from running off the road.
Eventually we made our way to crowded beach with a bunch of locals. At which point the guy in the buggy behind us told us one of the back tires would start wobbling the lean at 45 degrees causing the back to shift. When I told the guide, he said someone ran into the buggy during the tour the day prior. Like that made it ok versus a safety concern⊠We talked to another couple we were touring with, and they said their front tire was doing the same and they were told the same. They also told us during the 2nd part of the drive the axle in the buggy in front of them broke. The operators pushed it into the ditch and got another buggy for the people that were in it.
At this point everyone was just ready to be done with the tour, but they then told us we had 20 minutes to enjoy the beach. About 12 minutes later came out rushing us to get back to the buggies. When we got back to the buggies, we saw the police were there filming the buggies to fine the operator because we werenât supposed to be there.
We drove 5 minutes or so back starting point, got out of the buggies and got on the shuttle to get back to the port area. No one really talked to the operators, everyone just wanted to be done and leave.
