The journey continues towards Ancud, followed by a 28 km drive southwest to visit the Puñihuil Islands Natural Monument, a protected wild area. Here, local fishermen have embraced tourism, offering guided tours, navigation services, and dining options.
To view a colony of Humboldt and Magellanic penguins, a boat trip (navigation not included) along the Pacific Ocean coast is required. The tour proceeds around the island, passing a long, secluded beach showcasing the ocean’s magnificence. On the return journey, the tour visits Ancud, the second most populated city in Chiloé, where participants can explore the square, market, craft fair, the Friends of the Churches Foundation, and the renowned San Antonio Fort.

One of the best trips ever!! - One of the best trips i’ve ever been on!
Fantastic guide and driver and such a wonderful island. The nature was overwhelming from start to finish!
Penguins Sea Otters Sea lions vultures etc etc! Strongly recommend

Penguins are a must - It was a great and very informative trip. Ingrid is super knowledgeable guide - she probably knows all the birds in that island and Orland is a super careful driver. Penguins are super great part of the trip. And churches … yes in case of any doubts Ingrid would tell you all you need to know. Fantastic experience. Our kids loved it!

Great tour worth every dollar! - Very good tour, our guide took us to Chiloe island. It started raining we took a scenic route to Andy’s. There we toured a church and a museum. The penguin tour got cancelled but we still went to the beach where we take the boat to see the Penguins and there on the rocks we did see many of them. Overall both the guide and the driver showed us a great time despite the bad weather. Thanks so much!

Great tour with awesome Guides - Thank you,muchas gracias, to our tourguides Pablo and Oscar, who made this great tour even better. We had luck with the weather, we saw many penguins for that time of the year and we had tourguides, that enriched our experience with their great knowledge as well as their funny and sympathetic manner.

A unique experience - An extended day trip that is more than worth it for the unique experience of seeing Humbolt and Magellanic Penguins in the natural habitat. Coupled with a highly informative guide that kept us engaged the entire trip and a few interesting stops on the way there and back will not leave you waiting. All made possible for me by the excellent team at Patagonia Austral. I will definitely be going back and Patagonia Austral will be my first choice for arranging local excursions.

Excellent - Javier was an excellent driver and guide, fluent English, humorous and full of knowledge. We enjoyed the ferry to Chiloe and the touring on the island as well as the boat trip to the penguins.

Beautiful experience!! - The tour to Chiloé was very nice. The landscapes and places we could know are must-see stops in Chile. It's definitely the cutest thing in the South.
It wouldn't have been the same without our guide Carlos. He made the path and the adventure fun and relaxed, I thank him for sharing with us the history of the place and answering our questions, he allowed us to go with the music that we will like the most and talked a lot about the folklore of the Island and Puerto Varas. It definitely enlivened the trip as few do. We were very lucky to have him as our guide.
The place he took us to eat was also delicious. I recommend this tour 100%!! Greetings from Mexico.

Don't miss Punihuil when on Chiloe Island - Short boat ride from the beach, but plenty to see. Loads of wildlife. Penguins are the star, both Magellenic and Humboldt, but plenty of other birds to see. Definitely worth the stop. Plenty of restaurants on the beach for a meal.
