Puerto Piramides - For those interested in Whale Watching Navigation, Puerto Pirámides is the exclusive location in Península Valdés for this activity. The whale watching adventure begins by cruising along the coast in both directions, then venturing one or two miles into the sea to encounter the Southern Right Whales. The initial stop is typically at La Lobería, a sea lion colony. Sailing along the coast also offers views of numerous cormorant colonies. The journey continues to meet the whales, where the true magic unfolds. The boat will halt its engines, allowing the serene sounds of the sea and occasional birds to fill the air. This unique moment may offer a close encounter with the whales, if fortunate. The estimated sailing duration is 1:30 hours, varying with the season, weather, and animal presence.
Those staying on land can explore the charming town of Puerto Piramides and its beaches. - Peninsula Valdes - Continue the tour through the southern part of the Peninsula, traversing expansive grasslands and rolling landscapes, passing the Salinas Grande and Chica, and reaching Punta Delgada, the peninsula’s southern tip. Proceed to Punta Cantor to admire the Atlantic coast and the intriguing geological formation known as Caleta Valdés. These beaches often host southern elephant seals, depending on the season. Depending on the time of year and marine wildlife availability, the southern area of Las Salinas and Caleta Valdés may be substituted with Punta Norte.
- Peninsula Valdes - Begin the return journey with a stop at the Carlos Ameghino Interpretation Center, showcasing the peninsula’s natural richness. Throughout the excursion, there are excellent opportunities to observe terrestrial wildlife, including guanacos, rheas, foxes, maras, armadillos, and skunks.
- Puerto Madryn - After savoring the day’s final views, guests will be transported back to their hotel.
