• Calle a Gringolandia - The mangrove kayak tour departs approximately one to two hours prior to the high tide. This excursion navigates through the mangrove waterways of the Platanares River delta within the Preciosa Platanares Wildlife Refuge. A well-informed guide will navigate you through the river’s path, surrounded by the towering 70-foot mangrove trees. Discover the ecosystem of the mangroves and be on the lookout for a diverse array of wildlife – from monkeys and raccoons to iguanas, Jesus Christ lizards, crabs, crocodiles, caimans, snakes, various bird species, and butterflies!\n\nThe journey lasts for 3 hours, and we provide refreshments (seasonal tropical fruits), a kayak equipped with a backrest for added comfort and a double-sided paddle, a life vest, pre-trip instructions, and an expert guide. No prior kayaking experience is needed.\n\nRecommended items to bring along:\n\nWaterproof bags for all personal items, including cameras and video equipment, which can be safely brought along if adequately protected. A swimsuit, sunscreen, long pants and a long-sleeved shirt made of dry-fit material for sun protection (especially from December to April), sports shoes or strapped sandals (expect them to get wet), a lightweight raincoat (recommended from August to November), a neck strap for securing glasses, a hat, a change of dry clothes, a towel, and plastic bags for storing wet clothes.
