Great day out for rum and crocs! - This was a great tour to get to see the country side away from the beach and it was interesting to see the sugar cane operations and the distillery. Our guide Memo was super knowledgeable about the area and had a great boat guide lined up for our ride on the Palo Verde. I don't know how they saw some of the birds and monkeys that they found for us, but they did. Saw a lot of crocs too! It was a great day out.

Palo Verde River Safari, nature lovers dream - The River Safari was the ultimate nature lovers experience! We saw many different species of birds, spotted a dozen or more crocodiles and giant iguanas and watched monkeys play in the trees by the river. Next was an interactive rum tour and tasting followed by a delicious buffet style lunch! Kevin was the ultimate guide and provided the information to the guests on the tour in three different languages! Fantastic service! Thank you Costours for making our day unforgettable!!

Rum - The proccess of making rum is Very informative. I appreciated the histiry of how Rum was actually discovered. The taste test was just enough to get you going. Our group consisted of 3 and between the 3 of us we came up with 3 different recipes. We all bought at least 1 bottle of rum. Oh yeah dinner was excellent. Staff was great and Definitely worth the money.

One of the best tours I’ve been on - Going to be honest, this was probably one of the most enjoyable excursions I’ve ever been on. It started with a wonderful tour through a rural/farming part of Costa Rica where the guide provided us with a lot of great historical and agricultural information. Then we stopped at a local restaurant and were able to watch and try fresh made corn tortillas that were delicious! The boat tour was excellent. We were able to see over a dozen crocodiles, two species of monkeys, and many different types of birds. Lastly the rum tour was informative and fun, and we got to try some rum and got a free custom bottle for ourselves. But the best part of the tour were the guide Kevin and driver Memo (hope I spelled this correct). They were passionate, knowledgeable, and made every part of the tour fun. You can just tell how much they were enjoying their work. They went above and beyond what was expected and truly made the tour and amazing experience. They were both absolutely awesome. I recommend this tour for anyone who wants to learn about the culture and history of Costa Rica while having an amazing fun time. I legitimately felt like I was hanging out with friends and not with tour guides. I believe people can make or break an experience and these two gentlemen made this tour awesome. Please do take the tour it will be worth every penny!

A Must Do Tour! - What a great tour! Our driver Memo, was the best and provided so much local knowledge. The hacienda and grounds were absolutely beautiful and was the best lunch we had. Amazed at how many iguanas roamed the property. Roberto taught us so much on the rum making process, and we had fun making our own rum concoctions. Thank you all for helping to make our trip so memorable. Definitely recommend this tour!

Great Experience - We were lucky enough to have a private tour and Roberto made the experience amazing. He is a wealth of knowledge and a fun tour guide.

Book it! - From the time we were picked up from the time we were dropped off the entire experience was amazing. Our driver aka Memo took wonderful care of us on the drive. There are a lot of dirt roads and pot holes but he knows the roads like the back of his hands so he avoided them at all cost of us. Along the way he pointed out many interesting locations and facts. Once arriving to beautiful location we were greeted and offered fruits and drinks. There are a lot of iguanas out and about so be watchful! Our tour guide Roberto was so knowledgeable vested in the art of rum making. He explained everything perfectly. If you've never been to a Distillery or not he caterers to you! They're also building a craft beer building! We got to smell and guess ages of the barrels, make our own rum to taste and take home, and lunch was amazing. I can't reccomend this place enough. The entire staff made you feel special. We didn't know this was a private tour but that didn't matter. If you're into any kind of liquor distilling this is your place!!!

A MUST DO!!! - I recommend the cultural tour in which I enjoyed visiting a sugar plantation. I was amazed to learn about the way of life of the Ticos. In particular, the learning about the history and development of a rum factory was quite impressive. Above all, we had the unique opportunity to choose our favorite ingredients for the fabrication of our own bottle of rum. This is worth 5 stars!!! PURA VIDA!

Rum Tour - Oh Yes !!!! - The Rum Tour - A great cultural experience! What an amazing experience to be able see how rum is made and to make your own personalized flavoured bottle of rum! --- would do it again!

Disappointing - Facilities were beautiful and Robert very knowledgeable. For the cost expected more than tasting 1 rum. Also tour states custom bottle included but actually had to pay $25 each.
