Beautiful! - To do absolutely! Tulum is really beautiful, the ruins of Coba too are must see. A busy day, so we spend only 1 hour in Playa del Carmen, we might need more but it was a good excursion.

Get ready to be busy - The day stars with a pickup from the lobby of your hotel, the tourist guide gives you an idea of how many stops are there before heading for Tulum. To get to Tulum ruines you have to take a walk under the shade, once on site your guide explains about Maya culture, the explanation last between 45 minutes to 1 hour, you will have about 30 minutes for yourself to walk around and get back to the bus. After Tulum get ready to travel to Coba. The next stop is at a typical local restaurant for lunch buffet, the food is well prepare and very tasteful, be ready to get surprised by a local chicken plate, the chicken is cook in plantain leafs, the final result: a very tender meat. After lunch get ready to get into Coba ruins, keep in mind that the allotted time is limited, I suggest you get a bicycle ride from a local resident, for only 125 Mexican pesos you get a ride to the Coba mount and he will wait for you to take you back to the entrance, the locals are very nice and will stop in different places for you to take pictures. Once back to the main entrance there is an ethnic store with nicks knacks, these objects are sculpted by the mayan residents in the area, please be mindful and take something home from there. Next stop is the cenote, for this part of the trip you should have flip flops, a towel and a bathing suit; it is mandatory that you rinse yourself before entering the cave. Keep in mind that the descend is thru a very narrow orifice in the wall and you should be able to walk down a wooden staircase, must of the time wet from prior visitors. Once down the hole you will find the water hole, water is crystal clear and refreshing (a little bit on the cold side), you will have around 30 to 45 minutes to swim and change back on your dry clothes. Last but not least you head towards Playa del Carmen and there you discover 5th Avenue full of local establishments and many things to do that you wish you had taken a hotel in Playa del Carmen and not in Cancun. We had a great experience and are very gratefull that our tour guide was Jerry, Jerry is knowlegable and very entertaining, he has over 50 years of experience doing tours. I hope this will help you to make a desicion about this tour. Please keep in mind that you can book this tour at any place around Cancun or Playa de Carmen, there are plenty places to book from and you may even get discounts from your hotel concierge.

I did this tour with my sister and... -
I did this tour with my sister and sister in law and we had a great time! It was a full day but went quickly. Seeing the two different ruins to compare was great, the lunch was a buffet and local fare and good. We enjoyed the Cenote but perhaps stayed too long as it cut into our time to see downtown Playa's 5th Ave. The group on our tour really bonded and we would totally recommend this tour!

A mixed bag - While the visited sites are really nice the tour was rushed. 1H in Coba is definitively not enough while 90 minutes in Tulum too much is. The stop in Playa del Carmen is worthless : the beach is simply awful, the water is full of seaweed and it smells awful. But the cenote stop (cenote El Gloria) was wonderful, cristal clear water, the place is so lovely. Sad that we only had 15 minutes to swim.

Forgot to pick us up - Went to the lobby at 6:50am as they asked. At 7:30 no one had come, called them and he said they would return our call. 15 minutes later he calls back and says they had an issue with the bus. Really??? Why didn't they call us when it broke down. Rescheduled for another day. The trip is a long day, 14 hours. 7 am pick up, drive to pick up others, drive to another point to get on a bus. Drive to Playa del Carmen to get more people. Bus was completely full. Looking for a trip where you can venture out on your own and want to be rushed, not spending more than 75 minutes at each stop, this is for you. If you want to take in the sites don't do this tour. Tulum-1 hr 15 mins, Coba-1 hour, Lunch-1 hr, Shaman thing-1 hr, Cenote-1 hr, 5th Ave-1 hr. So 5.25 hours of tour, 9 hours on a bus. Tulum 15 min walk to the site, 15 back, that leaves 45 mins at the site. Basically run in run out. Lunch was bad. Reuse you same dirty plate for 2nds UCK! Coba, want to get to the big ruin, 20 min walk 1 way. Only there for an hour. 20 mins at the site. Pretty much forced to rent a bike. And u can't climb the steps. Shaman thing is a joke. 7 people living on the side of the road and 1 will bless u. Cenote- place is run down, dirty and disgusting. Refused to use the bathroom it smelled worst than an porta potty. 5th Ave, it's now 7 pm- 1 hour just enough time to walk 1 block and grab something to eat, no time for anything else. Cut the Shaman thing and that will give you 1.5 hours more for the others.
