On this boat tour, you’ll have the chance to explore two breathtaking islands, each with its own unique charm and beauty. The excursion includes visits to Armona Island or Desert Beach (in Summer) and Culatra Island, offering a full immersion into the region’s natural allure.

Your guide will provide insights into the Ria Formosa and its islands throughout the tour and assist with any needs. During the stops, guests are free to explore for the time set by the captain. You won’t experience nausea during the tour, as we sail only within the Ria Formosa.

First Stop: Culatra Island – 1 Hour

The journey continues to Culatra Island, a traditional and authentic place where time seems to stand still. With an hour of free time, you can explore the charming fishing village, where the dirt roads reflect a simple and peaceful lifestyle.

The small village on the island exudes a unique charm. Here, you can experience local life, visit the Culatra church, and learn about fishing, with the captain sharing the history and traditions of the region’s fishing community. Additionally, there are simple yet delicious restaurants where you can savor dishes like almonds, shrimp, sardines, and fresh fish caught by local fishermen. Second Stop: Armona Island or Desert Beach (45 minutes to 1 hour)
During winter, autumn, and spring, we stop at Armona Island, and during the summer season, we visit the deserted beach!

In an hour, you can take a refreshing swim, relax by the sea, or stroll along the island’s dunes and trails, surrounded by natural vegetation. Armona Island is renowned for its preserved nature and relaxed atmosphere. In winter, it maintains a unique calm, away from the hustle and bustle of tourism. In summer, upon arriving at Deserta Beach, you’ll be immediately immersed in the stunning landscape of golden sand, crystal-clear waters, and the natural vegetation that lines the coast. This beach is known for its absolute tranquility, away from the crowds, making it ideal for those seeking relaxation, a refreshing swim, or simply to appreciate the beauty of the place. The calm, transparent water invites you to a refreshing dip, while the fine sand is perfect for a relaxing walk along the shore.

Deserta Beach is also an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts, with its untouched vegetation and the gentle sound of waves lapping the sand. In an hour, you can explore the beach, rest in the shade of the dunes, or simply enjoy the secluded environment, offering a sense of peace and connection with nature.

Explore Ria Formosa and discover the island of Culatra, a charming fishing village home to nearly 1000 permanent residents, aiming to generate its own energy by 2030! The place boasts traditional houses and local customs, making it a global rarity!

There’s a variety of amenities and restaurants where you’ll get a chance to savour traditional dishes from the local eateries. Whether you reserve a table or prefer a picnic, you’re spoilt for choice!

Next, we’ll head to what many consider the best unpopulated beach in the Algarve, at the tip of Culatra Island. This beach, nestled between the deep blue Atlantic and the clear blue waters of the Ria Formosa, is perfect for diving, swimming or photographing! Experience a slice of heaven!

If it’s the off-season, we’ll visit the splendid Ilha da Armona, stopping for about an hour to wander around the island!
