- Grotte di Pilato - Named after Pontius Pilate, these grottoes are an exciting first stop on our itinerary.
- Chiaia Di Luna - This smooth, moon-colored cliff is a beloved stop in Ponza. The tour leader will share the romantic legend behind its name. If sea conditions permit, there may be a swim stop here.
- Punta Di Capo Bianco - This striking white rock formation is made from compressed volcanic ash. A long grotto runs through the cliff, and at noon, the sun creates stunning blue reflections in the water, illuminating the grotto. Are you adventurous enough to swim through it? If conditions allow, join the tour leader for this unique experience!
- Piscine Naturali - Known as the “Natural Pools,” this popular swimming area is a natural wonder, with perfect pools carved into the rocks.
- Cala Feola - As Ponza’s second port for smaller boats, Cala Feola offers a glimpse into the quieter side of the island.
- Cala dell’Acqua - Although Ponza no longer has its own water source, remnants can be seen in this cove, named “of the water” for this reason. Observe the tiny waterfalls from Ponza’s natural spring and the ruins of an ancient Roman aqueduct.
- Cala Fonte - This charming cove is best accessed by boat.
- Cala Cecata - Rich in history, this cove is where an American landing ship tank sank during a WWII storm, now a popular diving spot. View the remnants of a mine that once provided jobs to the locals. The mine’s closure marked a shift to an economy focused on fishing and tourism.
- Cala Felci - Approaching Ponza’s northern tip, discover the vibrant “Felci Cove,” where sulfur colors the cliffs bright yellow, contrasting with the emerald sea. This is a favored swimming spot, and we’ll likely anchor here to explore.
- Arco Naturale - As a volcanic island, Ponza’s soft rock is constantly shaped by the sea. The “Natural Arch” is a prime example, a giant sea stack with a hollowed center forming a massive rock arch, large enough for a boat to pass under.
- Spiaggia Di Frontone - The final stop before returning to port is the “Frontone” Beach, the island’s most popular beach, bustling with Italian sunbathers even at day’s end.
