Tracing the Footsteps of History

As a former professor of European history, I have always been drawn to the stories that shaped our world. The Monte Cassino Battlefield Trails was an opportunity I couldn’t resist. My wife and I embarked on this journey, eager to explore the historical significance of Monte Cassino, a site that played a pivotal role during World War II.

Our adventure began with a hike along the Cavendish Road, an ancient mule track that was transformed by Allied engineers into a strategic path during the war.
