On our recent trip to Mexico City we decided to spend a day in Teotihuacan and decided to take a private sunrise hot air balloon ride. After researching many of the various companies we decided to go with Flying Pictures Mexico based on their great reviews. We signed up for the private ride with round trip transportation from Mexico City and the pictures package. Pickup was at 5:30 am from a hotel right down the street from where we were staying and it took just about an hour to get to the balloon launch area. We did have a snafu when we got there.....too many people and not enough balloons. After some anxiety about what was going to happen and if we were going to be able to get up in the air, they got us into a balloon and we were soon up in the air. The ride itself was amazing....clear skies, beautiful weather (quite chilly in the morning so bring a light jacket and wear pants), and incredible views of the pyramids. After the ride, we had a fantastic buffet breakfast (the owner bought us a round of beers to make up for the confusion that morning) and then we set off to explore the pyramids on foot. We had just over two hours to walk around and then the transport company drove us back to Mexico City. While the experience was not without a couple hiccups early on (which, based on reviews of other tour companies, appears to be pretty common), they still get five stars for getting things fixed quickly and delivering excellent customer service.

Everyone at Flying Pictures was so accommodating and interested in our having a peak experience! We had to cancel due to heavy fog, and they rescheduled us for the next day and even did a pickup for us at our house. Dianna was so efficient at rebooking us, Shaun was charming while driving us and getting us (a 2nd) breakfast, and our pilot Odin was competent and informative. It was one of the best experiences of our lives!

It was a good trip, my girlfriend loved the travel, she loved the nice attitude of paco’s flying team, they are a nice person, and maybe when I decided to fly again I would like to have the same experience with paco’s team, the flying experience with them was awesome and paco is a nice airman and his team are so good as paco are.

I cannot recommend the Flying Pictures team enough. I booked a private hot air balloon over Teotihuacan for myself, my brother and my mother, and it was the most enjoyable part of our visit to Mexico. My mother has arthritis in her knees, and therefore as slightly restricted mobility, and cannot stand for long periods of time. The team were able to help with this, by providing a seat in the basket for her, which made it a comfortable ride for all of us. The flight was breathtaking, peaceful, and definitely a memory to keep. Thank you again Sean, Margarita and team.

The entire experience was breathtaking. Never have we imagined seeing the Pyramids on our first day. The experience made us forget the stresses that we’ve been through at the airport. Also, the captain of the balloon made our experience worthwhile. He even landed our balloon at the top of his truck. Something very very unique! I would definitely tell all my friends who are about to visit Mexico to do this experience. It was truly a check off our bucketlist.
