• The Gardens Below Prague Castle - This hidden gem is often overlooked and can be difficult to find. Even its name is somewhat vague (Palace Gardens). On a sunny August afternoon, it was almost deserted, thanks to its obscurity and the modest admission fee. It’s an enjoyable adventure, as you climb a long staircase without knowing what’s around you, then descend various stairs, pausing at different levels. The diverse levels and variety of stunning views, plantings, and architectural features gradually reveal themselves. The plantings are simple yet elegant.
• Wallenstein Palace Gardens - The Wallenstein Gardens is one of the rare places where you can see a white (albino) peacock. It’s incredibly beautiful. There are also the usual colorful peacocks, and the garden itself is breathtaking with its little paths, fountains, and amazing flowers and hedges. Serene and beautiful.
• Letna Park - This is a charming large park on the hill above the Vltava River, featuring a summer beer garden next to one of the best views of the entire city. In winter, there’s an ice skating rink. The park, with its beer stands, fills up with locals during the summer. It offers a fantastic view over the river, the bridges of Prague, and the architecture of both old and new Prague, providing a great opportunity for photography enthusiasts.
• Havlicek Park - This park is a haven of peace and tranquility. It offers spectacular views and wonderful wildlife. Keep an eye out for red squirrels foraging. There is a wooded area with a small pond and waterfall, and an amazing grotto that incorporates classical architecture, providing winding stone steps and small rooms for fun exploration. Artificial grottoes can also be seen here.
