Three decades prior to his assassination in Sarajevo, Crown Prince Franz Ferdinand acquired the historic Konopiste Castle, which dates back to the 13th century, and transformed it into a lavish residence befitting his status. The castle’s interiors reflect the intriguing life of Franz Ferdinand, one of the wealthiest individuals of his time and an avid hunter, along with his lovely wife Sophia Chotek, a Czech countess who demonstrated that love can transcend social disparities. Konopiste Castle provides a glimpse into the lifestyle of European nobility and offers the chance to admire an exceptional collection of hunting trophies, art, and weaponry.
