On this exclusive day tour from Berlin, travelers will journey 45 minutes outside the city to explore Potsdam.
This region was the residence of royalty during the Prussian empire, and visitors will encounter historic landmarks such as Sanssouci Palace and the original summer palace of Frederick the Great, often referred to as the German Versailles.
Additional highlights include the New Palace, recognized as the last grand Prussian Baroque palace, and Cecilienhof Country House, the site of the 1945 summit meeting of WWII’s victorious powers.
The tour also includes a visit to the Dutch Quarter, or “Little Amsterdam,” initially built to attract Dutch workers to aid in Potsdam’s expansion. Another fascinating stop is the Russian Colony Alexandrowka, which housed Russian singers at the Prussian court.
Finally, enjoy the Old Market Square, the historical center of Potsdam, which has undergone extensive reconstruction after much of its architecture was lost during World War II.
