Our guide, ISI, was... - Our guide, ISI, was awesome! He gave just the right mix of info and entertainment and also didn’t talk constantly - a perfect balance. :) The tour was fantastic! We had the right amount of time at each place and all the locations were cool and valuable in their own way. My 13 year old daughter and I loved it!!! Don’t hesitate - this is a great slice of Slovenia done really well in this tour!

See the top 3 attractions in Slovenia in 1 day! - This is a great tour to see 3 of the main attractions all in one day! It is a longer day but I had ample time to take photos, eat food at the various stops and explore the sights. The small van was nice as you were able to get to know the other participants.

Highly recommend this unforgettable day trip through Slovenia. - Tomaž was an exceptional guide, knowledgeable, kind, and incredibly generous with his time. His deep understanding of Slovenia’s history and culture brought each destination to life, and he happily answered our many questions along the way. The itinerary showcased some of Slovenia’s most remarkable highlights, including the stunning caves, a historic castle, and the breathtaking Lake Bled. Every stop allowed us to see the country’s rich history, natural beauty, and unique charm. We thought this trip was the perfect introduction to everything that makes Slovenia so special! 10/10 trip!

Great compact tour - Lake bled and the caves were really beautiful. This trip is definitely worth going if you wish to cover the caves and lake bled all in one day. Our guide Jacob was funny and energetic and shared a lot about his country. The only complaint I have was that the boats from the shore to the island in Lake bled are not coordinated and just go as and when they like. For 20 euros per person, we were given just 45 mins on the island. It was simply not enough. But then again, I wouldn't say that the island is a must go and the view isn't much greater there. Overall, this was a great tour.

Fairy tales do come true - Tea, was a great tour guide. We were very lucky to be the only two on the tour & because it was in winter very few lines. She was exceptionally knowledgable, mindful of my hip issue & bent over backwards to accommodate our every wish. It was a very cold day (in December), but sunny. The Postojnska cave (train & walking tour) was very interesting, even tho we have done a # of cave tours. We chose not to go inside the Predjamskigrad castle, due to the amount of stairs & it’s very damp/cold inside. Took great photos from outside tho & enjoyed hearing about its history. In Bled we opted not to go to the island with the church, again due to the extreme cold (in an open air boat), but great photo ops of the island from the shoreline. We did go to Bled castle. Really enjoyed checking out the Gutenberg press, talking with Uros (the fella that has been working with the press for 25 yrs), the honey shop, chapel, etc. At the back of the castle make sure you check out the view of the lake, island & surrounding area. It’s stunning. We were lucky enough to be there as the sun was going down. We walked along the lake where the small Christmas market was, then went beyond where the original Bled creme cake was created. Stopped to have a mulled wine & cake. Tea even made time for us to make a quick 20 min stop @ a medieval town on the way back. It was dark, but the Christmas lights were beautiful & the town was out of a fairy tale. I would definitely recommend this tour.

Slovenia the hidden gem in Europe - ✈️ Getting There & Car Rental We flew from Amsterdam to Munich and rented a car from Sixt at Munich Airport. Having a car made the entire journey smooth and flexible, especially when exploring lakes, mountain passes, and coastal towns. We stayed in a cozy Airbnb in the Tolmin area from 6th to 10th June and drove around the country each day. ⸻ 🌊 The Stunning Lakes of Slovenia Slovenia’s lakes are truly postcard-perfect, and each one offers something unique. Lake Bled Lake Bled is absolutely magical — turquoise water, the iconic island church, and dramatic mountain scenery. Parking is well organized in the Bled area. We found paid parking available near the lake, including parking spaces in front of hotels. Though paid, it was convenient and easily accessible. Lake Bohinj More peaceful and less crowded than Bled, Lake Bohinj offers raw alpine beauty. The atmosphere here felt untouched and calm. Parking here was free, which made the visit even more convenient. Lake Jasna Located near Kranjska Gora, Lake Jasna is smaller but incredibly beautiful, with crystal-clear water reflecting the surrounding mountains. Parking at Lake Jasna was also free and easily available. ⸻ 🏰 Europe’s Oldest Cave Castle – A Must Visit One of the most fascinating places we visited was Predjama Castle — often described as Europe’s oldest and most dramatic cave castle. Built directly into a cliff, it feels like something out of a fantasy movie. There is plenty of parking available near the castle, making it very convenient for visitors. The infrastructure is well maintained, and the visit is absolutely worth it. ⸻ 🚗 Scenic Drive Through Vršič Pass Driving through Vršič Pass was one of the highlights of the trip. The mountain road with its famous hairpin bends offers breathtaking panoramic views. If you enjoy scenic drives, this route is unforgettable. We also explored parts of Triglav National Park, where nature is preserved in its purest form — alpine landscapes, valleys, rivers, and waterfalls. ⸻ 🌊 Coastal Escape to Piran To experience a completely different side of Slovenia, we took a day trip to Piran. The charming Adriatic coastal town, with its narrow streets and Venetian-style architecture, was beautiful. We enjoyed a relaxing seaside lunch and spent the entire day exploring the old town and coastline. ⸻ 💡 Why This Trip Was Special What impressed us most about Slovenia was how well-organized everything is — from roads to parking facilities. Whether it was paid parking at Lake Bled or free parking at Lake Jasna and Bohinj, everything was clearly managed and convenient. Within just five days, we experienced: • Alpine lakes • Mountain passes • A dramatic cave castle • A national park • And a Mediterranean-style coastal town Slovenia truly offers incredible diversity within a small and easily drivable country. ⸻ ⭐ Final Verdict If you love scenic drives, crystal-clear lakes, historical landmarks, and peaceful natural beauty — Slovenia is a perfect destination for a road trip. Highly recommended for nature lovers and families alike! 🌍✨
