Experience the journey from Pico do Areeiro to Pico Ruivo, covering 7 km, followed by a descent to Achada do Teixeira, which is 2.5 km.

Afterwards, return to your accommodation. Please note that the 10 km walk is challenging due to its uneven terrain and numerous steps, requiring good physical fitness. The afternoon offers a more serene and quieter walk with fewer people on the path.

The journey begins with a pick-up from your accommodation, heading towards Pico do Areeiro, where, weather permitting, you can witness the sunrise over Madeira’s majestic mountains.

Next, embark on a trek along one of the island’s most renowned trails, traversing deep valleys, sharp peaks, and the impressive central mountain range, all while enjoying breathtaking views. Throughout the hike, the island’s wildlife, unique flora, and rich history will enhance the authenticity of this experience.

The ultimate goal is to reach the summit of Pico Ruivo, Madeira’s highest point, offering unparalleled panoramic views as a reward. Descend to Achada do Teixeira before returning to the hotel.

The walk will be led by Paulo Jesus, a native and resident of Madeira, and a mountain guide certified by Tourism of Portugal.
