Santana - Journeying from Funchal towards the majestic mountains, the scenic backdrop of Funchal is ever-present. Soon, the third highest peak, Pico do Areeiro, is reached at an altitude of 1818m, offering stunning views and landscapes. The descent to Santana begins through Ribeiro Frio and Cruzinhas, where the beauty of the indigenous Laurissilva Forest, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site since December 1999, can be admired. Upon arrival in Santana, the traditional houses with their thatched roofs, preserving the original characteristics of the area, will be showcased. A lunch stop is included, followed by a return journey along the eastern coast, featuring more breathtaking views and concluding at Madeira’s eastern point, Ponta de São Lourenço.

Porto Moniz Natural Swimming Pools - Departing from Funchal through Câmara de Lobos, the journey to Ribeira Brava takes the old roads. The morning begins on the southwestern coast with a stop for a drink, before ascending to the plateau at 1500m altitude, where the clouds are beneath, akin to an aircraft’s view. Crossing the plateau Paúl da Serra to Porto Moniz is an off-road adventure! A lunch break and a swim in the natural volcanic swimming pools are planned. The return drive along the northern coast villages includes guides highlighting the stunning sea cliffs with lush vegetation and showcasing some of the island’s best waterfalls.
