Beginners - We travelled as a group of 3 and booked the beginner level as none of us had done this before. The guides were amazing, they have a lot of patience for the first timers! At no point did I feel unsafe and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience! The natural slide at the end is a fantastic way to end the experience! The guides take pictures and recordings throughout the day and we recieved them later on that afternoon. I would recommend to anyone. Thanks guys!

Amazing canyoning with great guides - What an experience! I’ve been coming to Madeira for 20+ years and this is the best experience I’ve ever had on this beautiful island. The guides- Fabrizio and Gonzalo(spider man) were amazing. The views were just beautiful and the cannoning was full of fun. We will definitely be returning and recommending to all our friends and family.

This is what you have to do! - What an experience! We had applied for the beginners group, but entered Level 2. The first descent was exciting for a while, but then it went fine. Good explanation and guidance from the guides. João is a super enthusiastic guide with a lot of humor. This tour was the highlight of our holiday and recommend everyone to try it at Be Local! Don’t miss 😁! The photos you get afterwards are great and a very nice memory.

Exhilarating canyoning experience with a professional and friendly family run business - Booked this trip with my son (15), daughter (17) and myself (52). After pickup you are taken to a secluded area to get changed with a number of other groups. You then walk to the beginning of the canyoning activity. It's not a long distance but was enough to generate a bit of a thirst. I asked whether we had any water, but there wasn't any, but as we were at the top part of the walk, we could drink fresh water from the stream, which was quite an experience. That's one ticked off the bucket list ! As someone who doesn't swim well, I was somewhat anxious as to whether I would be able to do this activity. Throughout the walk I was really pleased that the guide was really supportive . I can confirm you don't need to be a strong swimmer, but you need to be able to swim the very short distance from the "splash down area" to the side. The route does get very busy with other groups but the guides work well together to reduce congestion and keep the feeling that you are part of a small group. My family had a great trip, the guides were experienced and fun, at no stage did we feel unsafe. The guides took excellent photos throughout with some lovely impromtu ones and shots of the beautiful scenery. The booking process was clear and simple, and the pick up and drop off efficient and very friendly. The only reason for not scoring this 5 out 5, was 1) The TripAdvisor advert cites food and drink are included, but we weren't offered any. As such, do remember to take your own snack but you won't have access to it until the end of the trip. Maybe take your own celebratory poncha :) 2) It is worth warning folks that there isn't a private changing area so if you are worried about your privacy (or privacy of family members) then I'd suggest wearing swimming costumes before arriving and/or bringing a changing towel poncho, or such the like. Advice, such as this, should be included to ensure people are prepared.
