Fun and informative day - This was a very enjoyable tour. The group size was not too large. Our guide Pedro was fun and informative. Both the wineries had excellent bottles for tasting with informative and entertaining hosts. The lunch was simple but tasty.

Fabulous winery tour - The tour lived up to expectations, the host at the first winery was very entertaining and free flowing with the most beautiful ports, followed by a wonderful 3 course lunch with red and white wine. Beautiful boat trip followed by a visit to a 2nd wonderful vineyard with more beautiful wine. We loved that our trip was max 19 people (minibus) not a large coach full. We enjoyed getting to know fellow tour participants over lunch and on the boat trip.

overall a nice day - This was a nice day trip! The duro valley is beautiful! Lunch was really good and both winerys we visited were nice. I also liked the river cruise portion. My only negatives were that I think the group trip is a little too many people, it felt a bit packed at times, the port tasting it was a bit hard to hear because they spent essentially the full time individually filling everyones tasting glass while talking about different types of port, but we only ended up trying 3 tawny ports (i feel like it would have been nice to also try the ruby and white). At the second winery we got to try another tawny port a white and red wine and a teeny tiny bit of honey and olive oil. they were pretty small portions, but in all we did end up drinking a decent amount through the day. (I think we did know when buying the tickets its a 3 port tasting, but in the moment I would have liked to be able to try a few more things or learn a little more in a smaller group setting) . Our host was nice, and it wasn't too hard to find the bus at the start of the journey. we got some really nice photos and in all had a good experience, even though I have had some better wine tasting experiences.

Duro Valley was beautiful... - Duro Valley was beautiful even though we started out in the rain. We had trouble getting transportation to the meeting point and the tour kept contact with us until we arrived. Due to our late arrival we were in the very back of the 19 passenger van - we found the seats a bit cramped but manageable. When we arrived at the first vineyard we were told it would be a 5-10 minute walk, the guide and most of the group went on ahead and we were concerned that we would miss a turn or the start of the tasting. It would have been helpful to know in advance that we would be waiting for another bus so we had lots of time to walk to the casa. We felt a bit rushed as we pushed to keep us with the group when we ended up having about 15 minutes down time once we got there. The Quinta had beautiful views and the owner was very personable and knowledgeable about the wine. The olive oil and lavender honey tasting was also delicious. The river boat tour from Pinhão was beautiful- we sat outside but due to the cooler temperatures many people sat inside. Our lunch at the second winery was very tasty- we both chose risotto and pork for our meal. The menu was paired with two wines and a port for dessert with chocolate cake (yummy) we then had two more port tastings. Overall we very much enjoyed the tour - we definitely appreciated having a driver on the winding narrow roads. Beautiful vistas and a great day.
