Highly recommend! - Everything about this was fantastic! The early pickup was the hardest part for me, not because of the time, but because Porto isn't "awake" by 730 (including no breakfast at my accommodation). We did stop for about 10 minutes prior to arriving at the bridge, but a little more time would be helpful for those of us who needed to eat and grab a coffee to start the day. The drive, the suspension bridge, the Paiva walk--all totally great. Lunch was easy and delicious in a no-frills family owned type place (choices were pork, patinga (sardines), or a wonderful omelet for us vegetarians), with fries ("chips"), rice and plentiful water and green wine. Off for a quick stop in Calcado (the stripe house town) and then onto about 90 minutes in Aveiro. Personally, I would have been fine skipping Calcado for more time in Aveiro, but I know people like to see the ocean and the "insta worthy" houses. I am utterly mortified I cannot remember our guide's name, but he was fabulous--the right amount of chatty v. quiet, filled us in every step of the way, respected our need to nap in the van, etc. The other only suggestion I have would be to keep bottles of water in the van as a super nice bonus touch. I'm glad this trip was a small group (though we sort of caravanned with 3 other vans) because a larger vehicle on some of those roads would be nauseating. Opa!

Very beautiful, but very tired - Despite running everything well, I do not recommend this tour for those who have any type of mobility, because it is very exhausting

Treat yourself - João (Costa) was our tour guide for this wonderful adventure. His driving was excellent and his commentary revealed a deep knowledge of the area and an obvious pride in his home town and country. There were quiet times in the vehicle, background music if desired and periods of chatting with other group members. The lunch was delicious accompanied by water, wine and coffee as you desired. There were adequate stops for comfort and time provided for solo exploration. The bridge was awesome! Again, some history and then the walk across and back offering incredible vistas. The walkway itself was stunning, a lot of steps down initially leading to about 3km of fairly flat going. Some shade was offered by trees and the team met us at the end where there were bathrooms and a cool air-conditioned vehicle waiting. A totally brilliant day - thank you Costa.

Excellent Northern Portugal Experience - This tour is a must do experience! Amazing scenic views walking across the suspension bridge with an up close view of the waterfall combined with the long walk scenic descent was well worth the time. Lunch with the locals was very good.l Our tour guide, Norberto, provided an excellent review of historical, cultural development.

You must go. - It is worth getting to know Aveiro... forget about comparing it to Venice, they are nothing alike; Venice is unique, but Aveiro should be visited if you are nearby... it can be explored in a short time, but it is very pleasant, and its beaches, which can be reached by bus, are huge and beautiful... it should also be emphasized that I ate very well both in Aveiro and at the beach, fresh fish at a very good price and delicious, and above all, the people are very friendly and welcoming... you must go...

Aveiro, Paiva Walkways - That was a great tour. Our guide provided us with information about Portugal and the city during the ride. First to the bridge followed by the hike. Then a group lunch and afterwards to the cities.

Grand day out - This tour was really enjoyable. Danny, our guide, was interesting, interested and entertaining. The suspension bridge was spectacular and having a dedicated entry time meant no queuing or other such tiresomeness . The walk over the bridge itself is pretty easy - not too much wobble or slipperiness, and I managed just fine in sandals (not flip-flops). It is high - and I’m not good with heights - but the views are gorgeous. The walkway was really great. It’s steep - thank goodness we were going down haha - and on a hot day there isn’t a massive amount of shade, but when there is some its delicious. Lots of viewing platforms for you to ooh and ahh at the heights, the lush vegetation, the fabulous views, waterfalls , rock formations, and the sounds of birdsong and rushing water - and seeing the bridge from below gives a real sense of scale. We stopped for a nice lunch (I didn't like my own pick, but other people's looked good!) then onwards to see the cute striped houses and some Atlantic rollers at Costa Nova, followed by a visit to Aveiro. My husband and I passed on the completely optional boat tour as there was no shade and we preferred to explore the town on foot (and may or may not have stopped for a sangria in a nice praça while were at it haha). Pretty town with some lovely buildings - reminded me more of Murano than of Venice (but without the glassblowing obviously) Our final highlight was Danny pointing out the many storks, some with babies, on their nests as we left the town - of course this is season-dependent! It’s a fairly long day, as we left at 07:45, and arrived back in Porto at around 5pm, but there are plenty of opportunities to rest in the car/minivan - and the strenuous stuff is all before lunch. My only real criticism is if the tour is full booked with 8 people, the passenger who has to sit in the middle of the front row of seats of the car will have little leg-room and may be somewhat uncomfortable. Having said that, I still heartily recommend.

There’s a lot more... - There’s a lot more driving on this tour than anticipated. There were lots of winding roads, as well. It was great walking the suspension bridge; the highlight.
