- Goat Blocks - Our favorite patio in Portland is home to a local brewery with a major legacy behind it. We’ll sample their beer, made with locally grown ingredients, and top off our afternoon with a fresh-baked pretzel stick dipped in beer cheese.

With over 1,000 food carts scattered throughout the city, join us as we guide you to some of the finest spots to savor the delectable dishes that make Portland a true haven for food enthusiasts. This walking tour offers a chance to explore international cuisines, enjoy refreshing beverages, and uncover fascinating history in this vibrant neighborhood. It’s the ideal way to experience the unique charm of Portland, dine like a local, and have a great time!
Tour highlights:
- Enjoy generous portions of food and drinks from 5-7 different food carts, ensuring more than a full meal!
- Gain insights into Portland’s food cart culture. (They’re not called trucks for a reason.)
- Sample a variety of cuisines, including Slavic, Mexican, Bavarian, and Burmese treats.
- Explore Portland’s historic, lesser-known Eastside neighborhood and admire the local street art.
- All special dietary requirements must be communicated at time of booking. We are happy to welcome vegetarians and pescatarians, but due to the diverse nature of food carts visited, please note not all stops can be made gluten-free, dairy-free, or vegan.
- This is a walking tour, total walking distance will be approximately 1 miles. Please be prepared to walk in any type of weather. Operates in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately including footwear and umbrella/rain gear.
- This is a smoke-free tour.
- This experience requires a minimum number of travelers. If it’s canceled because the minimum isn’t met, you’ll be offered a different date/experience or a full refund.

Cartopia Food Carts: 1207 SE Hawthorne Blvd, Portland OR, 97214. There are two entrances, please use entrance on 12th St near the white bike racks. Your guide will be at a table there, or if wet/rainy will be under covered area, and will have a yellow sign and yellow bag on table.

Don’t Sleep on Portlands Food Carts! - We spent a pleasant rainy day (thank you for not canceling due to the weather) with Herb. He educated us on the various cuisines of Portland while serving up fabulous dishes, each made with seasonal ingredients and lots of pride! I appreciated the variation of international fare, (Mexican, Birman, Ukrainian, Vietnamese and American) which gave me a chance to try many items that I would have otherwise overlooked.

Highly recommend!... - Highly recommend! Michelle was our tour guide and she was a wealth of knowledge about the city of Portland. The food was amazing……so amazing I forgot to take pictures 🤣 and so much food! We do food tours on all of our travels and this has been the best one to date! Those tacos 🥳

Herb was an excellent... - Herb was an excellent tour guide. He shared a wealth of knowledge about the Portland food scene. The food was also amazing!. We had an excellent poutine, pelmeni, a Burmese noodle salad, a Belgian waffle dessert, street tacos, and more. I highly recommend this tour.

Excellent food tour! - Come hungry cause this marvelous food tour takes you on an international trip showcasing the food pod diversity of Portland. Herb is an excellent guide filling you up with tons of local tidbits and fun facts as you chow on your delicious food and drinks.

Herb was a great tour... - Herb was a great tour guide! Really appreciated his enthusiasm and love for Portland food and the people who create the food. He gave important information about the tour logistics, Portland cultural background, stories and people of the food we were eating, and had fun little games to make things engaging. The food was very diverse and got to try things on my wish list. I enjoyed walking around and Herb sharing local updates and news with the city as well.
