• Queen’s Park Savannah - This evening, enjoy the vibrant steel-band practices in their local “pan-yards.” Originating over 75 years ago from repurposed oil-drums, this adaptable instrument is now celebrated worldwide, capable of playing any genre of music. Your 2.5-3 hour evening tour of Port of Spain begins with a convenient hotel pickup. During the brief drive to your initial 20-minute stop, the knowledgeable guide will share insights into the history and development of the “pan.”

Experience the captivating sounds of the steel-band, which can feature 120 players or more during Carnival. Throughout the rest of the year, regular practices include 20+ players. The lively tunes of local Calypso or Soca will captivate you, and occasionally, you might hear some Classical music. It’s truly remarkable that such a sophisticated instrument was crafted from a simple oil-drum. Our guide will explain the process.

Continue your pan-yard hopping adventure as we visit several other pan-yards in different parts of Port of Spain, each offering unique musical expression and arrangement. Every yard has its own distinct atmosphere and charm. Please remember, this is not a concert, but a spontaneous practice session!

Mingle with the locals, as Trinidadians (“Trinis”) are friendly and always eager for a chat! If possible, we’ll stop at a “mascamp” where Carnival costumes are displayed, and you’ll learn all about our fascinating Carnival.

We’ll also introduce you to the most popular nightlife spots, filled with bars, pubs, casinos, and restaurants. If you’re in the mood for “liming” (hanging out), we’ll provide the latest insider tips. It’s truly epic!
