As a former professional surfer, I’ve always been drawn to the ocean’s embrace, but this time, I decided to trade the waves for the vibrant streets of Port of Spain. My partner and I were eager to explore Trinidad & Tobago’s historic capital, and the Best of Port of Spain Tour seemed like the perfect way to dive into the city’s rich tapestry.

Our adventure began with a warm welcome from our tour guide, Anthony, who greeted us with a smile that could rival the Caribbean sun. Our journey continued to the Queen’s Park Savannah, a sprawling green space that offered a serene escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. Here, we indulged in Trinidad’s famous street food, starting with doubles—a delicious combination of fried bread and spicy chickpeas. The flavors danced on my palate, a symphony of spices that left me craving more.

We also sampled a refreshing milk-based drink, choosing the sea moss flavor, which was a delightful surprise. The creamy texture and subtle sweetness were the perfect complement to the spicy street food, and I couldn’t help but savor every sip.

A View from the Top

Our final stop was Fort George Lookout, perched high above the city at 366 meters. The panoramic view of Port of Spain was nothing short of breathtaking, and on a clear day, we could even glimpse Venezuela in the distance. As I stood there, taking in the sweeping vistas, I felt a sense of peace and fulfillment.
