Kokoda Track - 7:00 am Daily Trek Briefing. Begin the trek to the deserted village of Deniki, the site of the second battle of the Kokoda campaign. Receive a wartime briefing on the Battle for Deniki. Continue trekking to the Isurava Memorial using the original wartime trail between Deniki and the Isurava battle site. Camp at the Memorial.
Isurava to Templeton’s Crossing
Templeton’s Crossing to Bombers
Kokoda Track - 7:00 am Daily Trek Briefing. Trek along the original wartime trail up to Militia Ridge and follow the track near Mt Bellamy, the highest point of the Kokoda Trail. Proceed along the Bert Kienzle track to Lake Myola, an extinct volcanic plateau that served as the main logistic base for the Australians during the campaign. Receive a wartime briefing on the strategic importance of Myola to the campaign. Continue trekking to the Bombers campsite.
Bomber’s Campsite to Efogi
Kokoda Track - 7:00 am Daily Trek Briefing. Follow the original wartime trail to Lake Myola No 1. Trek to Kagi via the Kagi Gap through the moss forest. Descend to Efoge Creek and then ascend to Laununumu village (known as Efogi 2). Take a short trek down to the campsite at Efogi village.
Efogi to Agulogo
Agulogo to Ofi Creek
Kokoda Track - 7:00 am Daily Trek Briefing. Trek through the Nauro swamp area, cross the Brown River, and climb to the village of Nauro. Cross the Maguli Range and descend via Engineer’s Ridge. Examine the Japanese delaying defensive position on the southern slope of Engineer’s Ridge. Trek down to the campsite at Ofi Creek, the site of a successful Australian ambush during the withdrawal towards Ioribaiwa Ridge.
Ofi Creek to Goldie River
Kokoda Track - 7:00 am Daily Trek Briefing. Ascend Ioribaiwa. Receive a wartime briefing and inspect the Japanese defensive position. Trek down the ridge and along Matama Creek via Va Ule Creek to the base of Imita Ridge. Climb Imita Ridge. Wartime briefing. Descend to Goldie River campsite.
Goldie River to Owers Corner
