A Warm Welcome to Haute Goat

As a family travel writer, I’m always on the lookout for unique experiences that can bring families closer together. As we arrived, we were greeted by the friendly staff and a chorus of bleats from the goats. The excitement was palpable, and my kids were already bouncing with joy.

Goats Galore!

The main event of the day was, of course, the goat walk. Imagine being surrounded by a herd of adorable goats, each with their own personality. We were given a brief introduction to the goats, and then it was time to hit the trails. Walking with these playful creatures was an absolute delight. They trotted alongside us, occasionally stopping to munch on some grass or nuzzle up for a pet.

I found myself at the back of the group, making sure all the goats were accounted for. It was like herding a group of mischievous toddlers, and I loved every minute of it. The kids were thrilled, especially when one of the goats decided to jump up on a bench and hang out with us for a while. We learned their names and even got to feed them cedar branches, which they devoured with gusto.

Alpacas and Treats

After our goat adventure, it was time for an alpaca walk. We were paired with a gentle alpaca named Zoea, who had her own ideas about the pace of the walk. It was a hilarious sight as we tried to coax her along, but she was having none of it. Thankfully, Widget and Shadow, the other alpacas, were more cooperative, and we took turns walking them as a family.

The day wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the Screaming Goat Cafe. We indulged in some goat ice cream, which was a hit with everyone. The chocolate and wine flavor was a standout, and we couldn’t resist taking some cheese home with us. The cafe was the perfect spot to relax and reflect on the day’s adventures.

In the end, the Haute Goat Shmurgle was more than just a day out; it was a bonding experience that left us with memories to cherish.
