Such a perfect day I'm glad I spent it with you - This was the most organised tour ever. The staff were so polite and friendly, the gear was excellent, and the lunch was incredible. We can honestly say it was the 'Perfect day" and I would highly encourage others to book.

The most memorable day at Low Isles! - What a perfect day we had on the Wavedancer Low Isles day trip. Staff were amazing and super friendly and all so knowledgeable about the reef and Low Isles. We had a perfect day weather wise with plenty of sun and a beautiful sea breeze. Great for young families who want to spend the day on a beautiful beach or snorkel off the sand. We were a family of four with 20y and 17y old kids and even they were impressed which isn’t easy these days! We saw heaps of green turtles, small reef sharks and beautiful fish. Lunch was yummy with fresh salads, cold meats and prawns. If you want a beautiful chilled relaxing day on the Great Barrier Reef and don’t want to go to an outer reef this is the perfect day. This would definitely rank in my top Barrier Reef tours I have done. My daughter even got to sing with Ray who is the nicest guy, as he played guitar and entertained us on the trip back to Port Douglas.

Family friendly and fun, we saw a turtle! - We did this tour in Jan 2025. It was a great experience. We were traveling as a family of 4 with three and a 5-year-old who had never been snorkeling. The crew was super helpful and friendly. The boat was clean, and air-conditioned and there was ice water, and cordial for free all day. Biscuits were available at any time, and lunch was a great selection of salads, pasta, prawns, chicken, cold meats, bread rolls, and butter. They asked everyone if they had eaten enough before putting it away. Even people out on the island! They biologist did a presentation at the beginning explaining important facts about the reef and made herself available to anyone during the trip. The reef was beautiful with heaps of fish; we saw a shark and a turtle. I highly recommend this trip if you have small children. Probably the only way to see the reef comfortably.

A worthwhile trip, but not as good for us as it could have been - The trip was well managed and resourced, with plenty of crew and safety arrangements. It anchors off an amazing reef island 7km from the coast and the marine and reef biologist guides were excellent. Plenty of fish, reef sharks, turtles to be seen. Two things we discovered (too late): 1. Much of the coral was devastated by storm Jasper in 2024 and will take some time to recover, so the glass-bottomed boat trip was disappointing. 2. March is during the rainy season (it poured) so be prepared to get wet out of the water, as well as in it. Would be better mid-year.

Great snorkeling off the beach! - Wonderful snorkeling off the beach. Average lunch. We were surprised that you had to pay for snacks and alcohol. Glass bottom boat ride with Tayla and Adonna was great. Lifeguards were helpful on the beach. Health questionnaire was very invasive.

Rather disappointing - We booked this trip months in advance. At around, 10am the day before, we received a message saying that the coral in the low isles were damaged following the cyclone in late 2023. Although we enjoyed the day, we were extremely disappointed with what we saw. The information we received less than 24 hours before the Start of the trip should have been provided well in advance and we would have chosen a different trip instead. We will be making a formal complaint as it's unlikely we will come back to this region of the world ever again.

Tips for future families - The boat and crew were 10/10. Food was great too. We loved the trip back with one of the crew taking to the mic and singing with guitar. Tip- put your stinger suit on on the boat. There are 2 tables on the island to put gear on. You’re pretty much putting your stinger suit on whilst standing on fine crushed up coral. Don’t do the snorkel tour if you have kids. There is not enough time to get everyone ready before the guide counts down and takes off. A little stressful with 2 kids in a new situation. The reef is completely bleached so no colour, but still some big fish and turtles. Note to the guide, tell us to be mindful of reef sharks whilst we are on the boat, not when we are 20m off sure about to swim our further, this was not thoughtful of the kids in the water whether they are harmless or not. Take water and electrolytes for the island tour, is damn hot!
