Baldwin Street: The Steepest Street in the World - There is time to walk to the summit of the world’s steepest street.
(Alternatively, you can take photos and enjoy the view from the base of the street).
We pause here for approximately 15 minutes.
- The Octagon - We break for lunch and shopping at the Octagon midway through the tour. This is free time in the City Centre before proceeding to Larnach Castle in the afternoon.

Larnach Castle & Gardens - Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour of the Castle with time afterward for personal exploration or to visit the award-winning gardens. You also have the option to stop by the Ballroom Cafe for refreshments.

After the ‘City Highlights Tour’, you will be dropped off at the Octagon in the City Centre, where you will have 1 hour of free time for lunch and shopping. The Meridian Shopping Mall, featuring a Food Court, is just 2 blocks away.
Following lunch, the journey continues up to the Castle, offering breathtaking views of the peninsula. A brief stop at a lookout provides a perfect photo opportunity.
Upon arrival, enjoy a guided tour of the Castle, with time afterward for personal exploration or a visit to the award-winning gardens. You may also choose to relax at the Ballroom Cafe for refreshments.
The $48 NZD entry fee for Larnach Castle and Gardens is included in our tour price. No hidden fees.

Every passenger enters the Cruise ship terminal when they disembark. We meet you here. Look for your guide holding a "Discover Dunedin Tours" sign. Information staff are also on hand to assist.

Excellent tour and a great guide - A good overview of Dunedin. It was well paced, Tim the driver/guide was well informed and easy to understand. Our visit to the castle was very interesting. A beautiful old home with interesting history and a great view. Tom was very knowledgeable about the history of the home and the family . I high recommend this company and this tour

Great Dunedin excursion - Nice Dunedin highlights and a little time in the Octogon area for an espresso break especially after walking up Baldwin Street (fun and good for the derriere)! Enjoyed Lanarch Castle. Pretty gardens. Tim was a super guide. Would recommend this tour.

Dunedin highlights and Larnach Castle with Tim. - We had a wonderful day on this tour. Tim, our guide was absolutely great, very knowledgeable and full of info on every aspect of the tour. We saw the Railway station, the World’s steepest street (which we climbed) The beautiful University, stopped for photos with amazing views of the Peninsula, and had an amazing tour of Larnach Castle, complete with a fantastic commentary from Tim which we thoroughly enjoyed. Afternoon tea in the Ballroom was also a real treat.
We even had time for lunch and shopping mid way thru the tour.
We would absolutely recommend this tour. Tim was a fantastic guide, very friendly, took pics for everyone and was a true local with a mine of information and interesting facts.
We loved our day in Dunedin!

5 star Dunedin tour - This tour was a highlight from our NZ holiday. Tim was a very informative tour guide. We visited all the main tourist sites in a fully air-conditioned small bus with commentary along the way. Stops included Dunedin railway station, Signal Hill, Baldwin Hill, Otago university & Larnach castle which were all well worth seeing. The tour caters for all ages. If you are visiting on a cruise ship & have limited time to see Dunedin this is a great tour as you are met at Pt Chalmers cruise terminal & dropped back to the ship well before departure.

This was one of the best... - This was one of the best tours we did on our holiday in New Zealand, Tim was a fabulous tour guide…very informative.

Great tour, great... - Great tour, great history, the landscapes are beautiful. Dunedin it's a small but very cozy place. We love the castle tour. Perfect place to enjoy nature.

Explore Dunedin and Lanarch Castle - Very good tour with Tim who knew a great deal about the area having grown up in Dunedin. Very considerate towards us all and we didn't feel rushed. He was our tour guide at Lanarch Castle as well and being a small group our many questions were answered in detail. Met us and returned us to the Cruise terminal within the time frame. Can thoroughly recommend as value for money.
