Magic moment - We had a great day with Asta from Fantail tours. Only six of us, so we were able to do more and see things more closely than a bigger tour. Several of the group walked the steepest street, we were given good pointers for lunch and saw much on the peninsular. Then there were the penguins with OPERA. This was excellent and the guide let us stay longer when a penguin just appeared out of the bush and walked and jumped to be with its friends. Magic moment. A really good tour. We recommend it.

Dunedin with Asta, do it! - Asta did a wonderful job of explaining the history and sights. We so enjoyed her guidance and sense of humor. We loved walking to the top of Baldwin street, the amazing scenery and touring the Penguin preserve. What a beautiful place on earth!

We had a very enjoyable... - We had a very enjoyable day on our tour with Warren. We stopped several times on our drive along the peninsula for some photos of amazing scenery. It was very interesting to hear about the work of OPERA with the penguins and other endangered wildlife. We did see a sea lion, some seals, and a few penguins on the reserve shoreline. As cruise ship passengers, this was a great way to see the area around Dunedin on our day in port. Highly recommend!

Lots to See in the Otago Peninsula! - This was a super tour of the Otago Peninsula provided by Teresa, a fantastic tour guide! Loved all the stops, but my favorite in town was the botanical gardens. Teresa kept the tour lively with her running commentary. The penguin reserve was the highlight with a lovely walk to the habitat where we saw some blue penguins in their habitat. And we saw yellow penguins at the rehab center! Delightful day!

Loved the OPERA - Theresa was a great guide! She showed us the best of Dunedin, got us to the penguin reserve where we were in great hands, and even got to spot a couple of penguins! We had a great day in Dunedin thanks to Fantail Tours and Theresa.

Definitely would recommend for scenery and the guide - The bus driver was easy to find at the meeting point. She did a great job showing us around the area. You could tell from her enthusiasm that she really loved her job and the area. I am sorry I cannot remember her name but her husband does tours through the company as well. During our 2 week cruise she was by far the best tour guide that we had. She even extended the time of the tour to ensure that we were able to see everything that she wanted to show us and gave us a flower that she made herself when we left. The penguin reserve was nice. There is a lot of walking over uneven surfaces. I don't think they really see the yellow eyed penguins very much because there are only a few. We did though see one small blue penguin in his house. The guides that showed us around were very good and knowledgeable. The scenery was breathtaking.

Terrible - This review is strictly for the transportation provided. There were 2 groups doing the same tour. 1 group went in a giant spacious van or mini bus with giant windows. We got stuck in a tiny mini van that had a smell of cigarette smoke and Deodorizer. The aisle was 9 inches wide and 10 inches from my seat to the back of the seat in front of me. Myself and the guy sitting next to me couldn’t even sit properly. Our knees were out in the aisle. The guide, Steffen was great, the sites were great. The van had zero suspension. My head hit the ceiling several times going over bumps. I ended up carsick and in tremendous amounts of pain for enduring 6 hours of this. This van was a rental too. Fantail tours should be ashamed of themselves
