A great way to see Pt Adelaide - What a great way to experience the unique Pt Adelaide area! I got to see parts of the area that have seen much change or, as a long-time Adelaideian, I never knew about. Katina's tour was fun & fascinating & provided a fresh perspective . She's friendly, has an infectious enthusiasm & really knows her stuff! A thoroughly enjoyable walk (the beer & cheesecake were pretty nice too!), thanks Katina :)

Flamboyance Tours - Great showcasing the Old Port side of Adelaide - We arrived in Adelaide between Boxing Day & New Year and deliberately didn't book any tours in Adelaide until we could see what the weather was doing, so we booked this tour last minute. Our guide "Kat" or "Cat" (I didn't ask her how to spell it) was patient with us and worked around some of the usual sites of this tour being closed for the holidays; she did a very good job with that. I give this tour high marks because of the personal attention she put into it, delivering services above & beyond what we paid for.
This tour itself/ what to expect:
This tour near the old port explains the history of this side of Adelaide along the Port River. It mostly developed as a shipping and industrial center in the later half of the 1800s, with pubs to service the industrial workers, seafarers and wharfies along that same timeframe. It became a center for shopping and commerce into the 1900s, then fell on harder times as shopping moved to other venues (wholesalers and malls), as an alternative port was built taking the workers elsewhere, and as this area competed with the other side of Adelaide planned by Colonel Light.
However! the history is very well preserved and it's been culturally enriched with lots of city-sanctioned and impressive street art. The old jail and other old buildings are now museums. It seems like most of the old buildings from the 1800s have survived well and are being revitalized/ historically preserved and appreciated. Trendy modern condos/ apartments are going up to bring a new generation of people, who enjoy being surrounded by the history, to the area.
We got more than we paid for in this tour. Enjoy a drinks and a meal while on this side of town; there are loads of options over there. Great opportunity to see the older side of Adelaide.

Port Adelaide Showcased on Walking Tour - Not having spent a lot of time in Port Adelaide, I found the Walking Tour excellent. Katina had a wealth of knowledge to share with my friend & me. We explored old buildings, saw examples of street art & learnt much about the history of the port. We enjoyed a delicious cheesecake from a bakery established in 1870 & a drink at one of the local hotels. A truly worthwhile experience!

Great tour of the old port - Staying in Adelaide for the TDU we booked this tour for a change from the cycling. Port Adelaide was a bit of a mystery to us but Katina’s extensive tour provided us a great insight into the port as it was and is now. Her knowledgeable explanation of the history and land marks was peppered with great stories of the people and events in the port’s history. We thoroughly enjoyed the 2 1/2 hours which represented great value for money. Highly recommended!

Enjoyable Port Adelaide Walking Tour Experience - We were fortunate to have Kat all to ourselves on this Port Adelaide Walking Tour on a pleasant winter’s afternoon last week The pace was relaxed and unhurried, and Kat has an excellent knowledge of this part of Adelaide with its many historic buildings, which she imparts with many interesting anecdotes about early residents and businesses.
We thought it was good too to have a couple of short breaks along the way, one at an historic hotel and one at a long-established bakery.
A very enjoyable afternoon tour that we’re happy to recommend.

History lesson on early settlement of Adelaide - Do yourself a favour and take advantage of this walking tour if you can.
A very different way to see and understand the history of the early settlers to Adelaide. Not to mention seeing a different part of South Australia, which we would probably not have visited without an informative guided tour.
The buildings and architecture as years progressed, having a stop at the British Pub for an ale or similar in the Cellar, and the stories from their past makes this tour of Port Adelaide a worthwhile experience.
Thanks Katina for squeezing us in on our weekend stopover in Adelaide.
We enjoyed meeting you and partaking of all 4 tours you and your company had on offer for us.
