Our destination is Fontainhas.

Monte Fontainhas - Fontainhas is a village renowned for having one of the most beautiful views in the world, as noted by National Geographic. This enchanting village is perched on a high mountain edge, surrounded by lush vegetation and farmland, offering a view of the Atlantic Ocean and a black sandy beach perfect for relaxation. We will take a short break here while the guide shares insights into the history and culture.

Formiguinhas - Our hike continues down a steep path through the villages of Corvo, Formiguinhas, and Aranhas.
Our guides possess extensive knowledge of local wildlife and endemic plants. With some luck, we might spot various turtle and whale species.
After departing Formiguinhas, we reach the ‘forgotten village.’ This abandoned village is unique in its own way. Discover why this village was deserted and why the ribeira lost its color on this side of the mountain.
We can enjoy lunch at a local restaurant here.
- Cruzinha - As we hike back up the volcanic rocks, the guide explains the diverse geography visible along the way. We walk along the coast, where we might see ospreys.
Upon reaching Cruzinha, our car will be ready to pick us up. Relax and rehydrate as we transport you back to your accommodation.
