Wonderful day! - We had a fantastic time on the tour with Rafael. He truly loves his island and it shows in his delivery of the tour. Rafael shared a lot of information about the history of the island while taking us to many special places. The day was packed with lots of amazing sights! Few notes regarding expenses: Thermal Water Admission 17 euro Lunch: 17 euro includes soup, meal, drinks and dessert…fabulous food at quite a deal! Highly recommend it! Only suggestion: Although it was a nice gesture to be given a choice to select one of two choices for the tea plantation part of the tour, I would just stick to the one advertised (Gorreanea). Our group chose the smaller one which had incredible views of the island but a few of us regretted the choice. When we passed by Gorreanea, we wished we visited that one instead. It was a lot more impressive. Although more commercial, the grounds appeared to be stunning. Thanks for a wonderful day!!! We had a great time.

Divine - The lagoon of the furnaces is a must visit in São Miguel. In addition to the fumarolas where large pots are "buried" with the ingredients for the famous cooked, there are some magnificent trails for hiking. I recommend it, because it really is worth it.

Best Tour Experience! - Had such an amazing time from start to finish and our tour guide was great! He shared a lot of information about Azores, and the places we visited. I can’t believe we got to do and see as many of the things we did in a single day. This is the best tour I’ve had. Definitely recommend doing this.

Superb day in Furnas with Julio, passionate and captivating local guide. Nature, volcano and culture at the top! - The excursion to the Furnas region was one of the highlights of our stay in São Miguel, thanks in large part to our guide Julio. Originally from the island, he knows every nook and cranny, every trail, every local legend – and it feels! Throughout the day, he shared with us his impressive knowledge of the volcanic nature of the island, the formation of lakes, fumaroles, hot springs, and the history of tea and pineapple plantations. His explanations were always clear, exciting and punctuated by small local anecdotes that really brought each place to life. You can feel a deep attachment to his island, and this makes the experience all the more authentic. We also enjoyed the pace of the visit: well balanced, with enough time to enjoy each place without ever feeling rushed. If you are looking for an immersion in the volcanic landscapes of the Azores with a passionate guide deeply attached to his land, look no further!

Best way to explore East end of Sao Miguel - We loved this tour. We managed to stay ahead of the crowds, which was a big plus. Our tour guide was AMAZING! Got to see all of the highlights on the East end of the island in one day. Wear a dark bathing suit for hot springs (a highlight of the tour), try to leave time to stroll thru botanical gardens. Highly recommend.
