We went on the 48 hour... - We went on the 48 hour package which gave us plenty of time to see everything we wanted to see. It was great value for the price. They were extremely well organized and always on time. Having Joao, Barbara and Sara as guides onboard provided a special touch and an opportunity to get the locate flavour. They were great!

See the island without the crowds - It was a great way to see the island. However, there are only two buses so you really have to plan your route. Sometimes you have to wait two hours before the bus comes back. They will tell you the best way to spend your day. Count on only doing two major things each day. Highly recommend the grotto hike and the tea Plantation. The office staff and the drivers along with Juan and Barbara our guides were wonderful.

Great tour and overview in San Miguel - We had an excellent driver and guide. They stopped for pictures and were very informative. We had a smaller vehicle and it felt more like a private tour. Highly recommend

Excellent experience - I decided to get to know the island of San Miguel by taking the bus hop on hop off which already knew it from other destinations in Europe. Loved the service, a very attentive guide on board. The landscapes travelled were spectacular! thanks azores on route :)

Very nice but watch out for the hours! - The tour itself was nice, the guide was really good and entertaining. On the other side, the bus passes every 45-120 minutes so you don't have the time to get off at every stop. Also, if you want to take the two lines, you have to watch for the finishing hour versus the start of the other line because it often only works in one order and not the other. Because we started with one line instead of the other, we didn't have the time to do both lines so it feels like we lost half of our money. Except for that, we had great service, we would recommend.

Not a Hop on Hop off Bus - So disappointed in this company. They claim to be a tour company as well as “hop on hop off bus”. My husband and I are in our 70’s and wanted to do some hiking thinking we could get dropped off and picked up. We arrived in Ponta Delgada and day 2 arranged just a tour of the Northeast Island . The next day we took the bus to Setes de Cidades hopped off hiked around the caldera and hopped on the bus back to town. Since we had tested the system we decided to next day to hop on and off at 3 different sites and were assured by an agent it would work. No… were dropped off at the first site expecting a bus in a half hour but the tour agents would not allow us on THREE buses that went by because they were full. We stayed there in the middle of nowhere because we were repeatedly told an added bus was coming.FOUR hours later ,sitting most of that time on the side of the busy highway we demanded a solution to the agent on the bus and were finally allowed to board a already full bus. The buses were so overbooked and even though this was supposed a hop on hop off bus, not a tour bus, no one was getting off. So disorganized. Not a positive experience. Saw little we wanted that day and when we complained in the office they just shrugged and said sorry. We contacted the customer care by email,since there was no manager,and have had zero response. There were many more tourists than us in the situation of being left on the roadside,but our was the longest time.

Terrible experience and waste of money - We spent an hour trying to find the Hop-on Hop-off bus stops, even asking locals in cafes and on the streets. No one knew about this bus.

Not a hop on hop off bus tour and not well managed - While the island is lovely and the scenery is gorgeous, this hop on hop off experience was terrible. The company did not plan appropriately for two large cruise ships (including the one I was on) to be in port and they oversold the tickets. I had purchased mine a month before, they were selling on line, in the ticket office and on the bus. I did speak to a representative in the office and was told about the lack of planning and communication. The office staff had no idea how many reservations had been made on line either. Because of the crowding and lack of resources, busses were full, and they had to call for additional transport. I waited at least an hour for a green line bus and ended up taking the blue line that was procured. There was no stopping at the look outs, we just drove up to Sete Cidades and the bus waited for us for about 30 minutes. On our return to Ponta Delgada, I opted to take the green bus. Again, so overcrowded they had to call for another bus. Once again we just drove around and did not stop except the tea plantation for about 15 minutes. I asked if another bus would follow, was told it would be an hour and there was no guarantee I would find a seat. So I opted to stay on that bus. I do not feel I really did the island justice, did not get to do any of the stops advertised and being told there was no guarantee of a seat on the next bus was ridiculous. I did not want to get off at any of the stops even if it was available because I felt I would be stranded. Staff was nice and could not help the situation, they did their best but I would not recommend this tour.

Dangerous situation - Terrible experience. We are seniors and left on side of highway for 3.5 hrs and had to argue to get on a overcrowded bus. Beware. We could not go to advertised places as the buses were over filled. Could have been a very serious situation and nobody cared
