Must do - It was amazing tour of the island! Pedro was a fantastic guide, knowledgeable & patient. Would highly, highly recommend this tour - we wish we would have done it our first day on the island instead of the last

Wonderful tour! A must-do when visiting São Miguel! - Our tour guide was absolutely incredible. He was very kind, punctual, and was easily able to answer all of our questions. He took us to some beautiful places on the island. Although some stops in our itinerary were closed for renovations and maintenance, he was able to make seamless adjustments to the itinerary and he made sure we didn't miss out on anything. We started at the gorgeous Santa Barbara beach. Even though the beach was closed because of the rough serve, we were still able to walk around and get some great pictures. From there we went Santa Ila for more stunning scenic views. From there we went to the Che Gorreana tea factory in plantation. There we were able to see how the tea is made, watch some of the magic happen right in front of us, then sample some of the finished product as well as shop for souvenirs and do a tasting of local liqueurs if we we were interested. From there we visited Fuernas, then the calderas. Afterwards you took us to a local restaurant to enjoy Furnas stew which is cooked in the calderas. If you don't eat meat, no worries. The restaurant offers vegetarian as well as vegan options. The stew is served family style in large glass or ceramic dishes. I don't eat pork so I did not order the stew, but I was still able to try some of the vegetables and beef from the stew and it was very good! I ordered the vegetarian pasta which was full of try color rotini pasta with extra vegetables. It was excellent. After lunch we toured the botanical gardens which were absolutely beautiful. It's a great place to stroll, take pictures, or just sit in a quiet spot and enjoy some time with nature. Unfortunately, the hot springs were closed for renovation so we were not able to enjoy that but instead he took us to Furnas Lake to walk around and enjoy the scenery. Our last stop was Vila Franca do Capo where we were able to see the famous church at the top of the hill as well as enjoying a stunning view of this side of Sao Miguel Island. It was a full day of activities, but it went very quickly. The pace of the tour was just right. I felt like we had sufficient time at each location. This excursion is great for all ages and a broad variety of fitness levels. Well there was a bit of walking, it wasn't strenuous, and the only precarious walking was on the hills at the botanical gardens where there's a thin layer of moss which makes the path a little slippery in spots. There were people in their 40s all the way up to people in their mid 70s on this tour and we were all able manage the terrain very well. I also appreciate that it was a small group and that we were able to enjoy the tour and comfort. Our guide shuttled us around the island in a Mercedes-Benz van, which was spacious and quite comfortable even though we were full to capacity. This trip was money well spent and I cannot recommend it enough

An amazing tour with Joao! - I went with three of my friends on a northeastern tour around the east circle and Furnas volcano, and it was one of our favorite experiences! Joao was an amazing tour guide; he was incredibly knowledgable and funny. We had a lot of laughs in our group, and it made the tour one of the best ones I have been on. I definitely will visit again!

So-so - The tour operator was over 30 minutes late with no communication. I reached out twice via the app with no response and waited in the rain because there was no phone number to call. Apparently it was because they received the wrong pick-up address from the organizer. This happened to me on another Viator tour as well (although in that case, they informed me they were running late, but it seems to be a common thing in the Azores). In any case, it put a damper on the whole experience. Once we got going, the guide did a good job explaining lots of history and giving us facts about the sights. The food was overpriced, but all in all, the stops we made throughout the tour were worth the trip.

Zero professionalism, awful customer service - We’ve booked the trip to the East of the island. We were supposed to be picked up from the hotel at 9 am. At 9,30 we were still waiting so I decided to call them - no reply. I tried to message them - no reply. Then I got notification on get your guide that the activity got cancelled. Zero professionalism, awful customer service.
