  Begin your journey at our headquarters located in the Marina of Ponta Delgada. Please arrive 15–20 minutes prior to departure for check-in and preparation for your adventure.

Safety Briefing & Introduction (15–20 minutes)
Our team of skilled marine biologists will greet you and provide a comprehensive safety briefing. You’ll also gain insights into the marine species you may encounter, local conservation initiatives, and what to anticipate during the tour.

Departure from the Marina
Following the briefing, we will board the boat and venture into the Atlantic Ocean to seek out whales, dolphins, and other marine creatures. Our biologists will accompany you throughout the journey, sharing intriguing insights and assisting in identifying each species we come across.

• Picos de Aventura - Animação e Lazer - Whale & Dolphin Watching (2 to 3 hours)
  Enjoy up to 3 hours at sea, guided by our knowledgeable crew and biologists. Sightings vary daily, but you might see sperm whales, dolphins, and possibly baleen whales or other migratory species. The tour blends the excitement of wildlife spotting with educational commentary and stunning coastal views.

Return to the Marina
After the tour, we return to our headquarters where your guides are available for any final questions or to discuss the day’s sightings further.

Biologist-Guided Experience – Each tour is led by expert marine biologists who offer live commentary, identify species, and share intriguing insights into whale behavior and marine conservation.

Land-Based Lookouts (Vigias) – Traditional land-based lookout points are utilized to spot whales and dolphins before the boats depart the marina. This local technique significantly enhances the likelihood of successful sightings.

Ethical Wildlife Observation – At Picos de Aventura, respectful and non-invasive wildlife observation is a priority, ensuring that interactions do not disturb the animals or alter their natural behaviors.

Scenic Azorean Backdrop – The breathtaking coastline of São Miguel and the vast blue Atlantic provide a magnificent setting for your adventure.

Comfort & Choice – Whether seeking the thrill of a rigid inflatable speedboat or the stability of a catamaran, various vessels are available to match your comfort level and adventure preference.

• We offer tours on 2 different types of boats: A zodiac-style rigid inflatable speedboat, designed for speed, safety, and a thrilling close-to-the-water experience OR or a modern Catamaran with plenty of space to move around where you can relax inside the covered cabin or soak up the views from the open-air upper deck. This larger boat offers a more comfortable experience and amenities like toilets for your convenience. Perfect for families with small children.
