Children in the village naturally learn silver crafting from a young age, without formal instruction. Approximately 30 to 40 families in this community have been producing silver handicrafts for three generations, with each family averaging a monthly production of 5-6 kilograms.

From 1618 to 1866, it was officially known as Oudong Meanchey and served as the residence for a series of kings who were displaced from Longvek by the Thai invaders. In 1866, King Norodom left Oudong, relocating his royal court to the present capital, Phnom Penh.
