Small group tour with very knowledgeable guide - A wonderful 3 hour with our very knowledgeable guide, Jolanda. Would highly recommend, and will be coming back again!
Instead of just pointing out ruins, she explained how people lived, worked, and navigated daily life nearly 2,000 years ago.
The tour moved at a comfortable pace, with plenty of opportunities for questions and photos. Highlights included the beautifully preserved frescoes, the forum, the bathhouses, and the eerily fascinating plaster casts. What I appreciated most was how the guide helped us visualize the city as it once was—something that’s hard to do on your own.

Outstanding Small Group Tour and Guide - The tour was taken in a smaller group which makes everything you’re being shown much easier to see. Antonella was an exceptional guide, taking us to all of the major areas in Pompeii, but sharing so many extra details due to working there as an archaeologist for many years. Fascinating and very informative. Don’t miss being shown Pompeii by an expert like Antonella. I cannot recommend her and the excellent tour highly enough.

Brilliant tour with expert guide - We had a fantastic tour with a brilliant guide, Antonella. Our group was 12 people and the tour lasted the full 3 hours. Antonella kept us moving at a brisk pace around the whole area to see the key sites - houses, baths, temples, shops, bars, theatres and other places of interest. She was able to bring the ancient stones alive due to her deep knowledge of the archeology, history and details of the excavations, including very recently opened areas. Her English was excellent and she patiently answered all our many questions. I can't imagine a better way to discover Pompeii.

It was a little confusing... - It was a little confusing in the beginning because of the crowds at the entrance, but once we got going, the tour was wonderful and so informative. I recommend the 3 hour tour - too much to see in less.

Must go for fans of ancient Rome - Been on a few tours in different places during our trip but this was definitely the best one, I'd give 10/5 score if I could. Mario gave us all the historical context of the city and the republic and portrayed life of citizens of Pompeii from all social classes up until the day of the eruption in many details and answered all our questions, even very specific ones. If you're a fan of ancient Rome this is the tour you should get.

Best guide and tour. Mario was very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. - We were looking for a longer than standard 2 hour tour. Mario catered the tour to groups’s interest and we loved that our 3 hour tour lasted for 30 extra minutes! He was very patient, pointed out even small details and his archeological knowledge was really good.
I would highly recommend this tour.

Great orientation to Pompeii led by an excellent guide - Overall Theresa was a knowledgeable and personable guide and we covered many wonderful sites with educational commentary. Due to a foot injury and my age I found the tour moved a bit fast for me. I didn't have time to take all the pictures I wanted and felt rushed. Theresa was kind though and did wait up for me. The problem was really more with me than with the guide or the tour. I was glad I took this tour. Pompeii is so vast, I would have had no idea where to start without the tour.

To be avoided like the plague - I book this visit well in advance, I also book a parking space nearby and take a day off at the office. Three days before the scheduled date, on the same day that I am charged for the ticket, I receive from them a whatsapp in which I was told that due to unspecified "organizational problems" the visit was no longer available... in the meantime, until the scheduled date, the visit is easily bookable on GetYourGuide. I was given the alternative of a visit in English or a leisure visit to Naples... a bit like when you go to the delicatessen and ask for a raw Parma, but you are told that there is only mortadella and bresaola. This is just to show the professionalism of these "gentlemen". I immediately contact GetYourGuide and demand that the cancellation of the tour is made by Askos and not by me, just to set the record straight. I begin to sift through the negative criticism a bit and I see that it is a practice of this company and then I begin to understand what these "organizational problems" were. I wonder, but if I arrived from outside by train or plane, I booked a hotel for a couple of nights, etc... who reimbursed me these expenses? Clearly in my case GetYourGuide immediately provided for the refund of the tour and, fortunately, I also fell within the 15 euros of parking, I lost it just on the working day at the office. Final tip, beware, choose other tours with more serious companies.
