Additional Information

Pompeii, a prosperous business center, was completely devastated by a catastrophic volcanic eruption in 79 AD, which Roman author Pliny the Younger referred to as a ‘massive dark cloud’.

During this exploration, you’ll traverse through a wealthy commercial city boasting a sophisticated street design, which stretches from the main square, the Forum, to the impressive ‘Teatro Piccolo’ characterized by its impeccable acoustics, while also passing by the Gladiator’s Gymnasium and leading to the thermal baths.

Herculaneum

Likewise, Herculaneum was caught off-guard by the same 79 AD eruption and was smothered under a ‘cloud’ that solidified into a layer of mud, wonderfully preserving wood, textiles, and most of the city’s perishable items.

This tour offers a dive into the city’s social culture, letting you stroll past fresco-painted homes, graffiti-covered walls, craft shops, religious centers, the ancient gymnasium, and the thermal baths.

You will witness indications of a sophisticated and timeless community, narrating a compelling human tale.

Great kid-friendly tour with Stefania! - We had an absolutely wonderful day with Stefania! She specifically catered the tour towards our 7 year old and 4 year old, we did about an hour on each site and had a great "highlights" view of both. Our entire family enjoyed it! I would absolutely recommend to anyone coming to the area. Stefania was very knowledgeable, warm, friendly and played fun games with our kids along the way to keep them engaged.
