The first destination is Pompeii, where a private local guide will lead you through the remarkably preserved ancient Roman city. The adventure continues along the stunning Amalfi Coast, offering free time in Positano for lunch and shopping.
The tour proceeds to Amalfi, the oldest of the Maritime Republics. Here, visitors can marvel at the iconic Cathedral of St. Andrew and savor the famous local “Limoncello” liquor.
During the winter season, from November 1 to February 28, the itinerary starts with a visit to Amalfi, allowing free time for lunch and Limoncello tasting, followed by a stop at a rooftop terrace for picturesque views of Positano (note that shops and restaurants are closed during the low season).

Packed Day from Rome to Pompeii to Positano - It was a long day in the car, but Ali and Max were both great. The tour of Pompeii was very informative, but the site was so interesting that we could have spent more time there. Ali recommended a great restaurant in Positano right on the beach where we were able to dine while listening to the waves crash. With all the time in the car, the guides did a great job of scheduling brakes for restroom and refreshments. Ali and Max provided interesting dialogue about the geography and landscapes that we passed.

Amazing unforgettable tour!!! - I had great great time with Simone the tour operator assistant, Roberto the driver, Julio the future tour operator assistant and Ana the tour guide for Pompei. Everybody was playing their part perfectly to make my journey wonderful and unforgettable. I highly appreciate it and feel very lucky with have them with me. Right now it’s low season and I’m lucky enough to enjoy VIP service today. Pompei is iconic place to visit and Amalfi is just so so beautiful and stunning with one of a kind super unique view. I highly recommend this tour and Simone Roberto Julio and Ana!!! Guys you’ve done an amazing job!!!

Amazing road trip! - Massimo (our driver) and Paola (our host) were a lot of fun and turned what could have been a long day into a really fun and engaging experience! The tour of Pompeii with our (funny and knowledgeable) guide Frankie was educational and loaded with interesting facts. The drive was scenic, and the overall trip was a must-do.

Pompeii magical day - I was nervous about doing this trip as it was a long time in the car and I suffer with PTSD from a car accident a few years ago. I did nit need to worry as our driver was excellent. The Mercedes van was very clean and comfortable. The views from the drive along the mountain and cliffs were amazing .
We were picked up on time and stopped along the route for a coffee.
Pompeii was very interesting . We met our tour guide at the archaeological site . There we were told the story of how the people use to live and work there . She then went on to tell us the story of when the volcano ash descended upon the people .
We spent two hours here . Our driver and guide then took us to Amalfi coast where we stopped for a lively pasta lunch . After we tried some local candy and drinks . They were so nice we purchased loads !
We then headed back on long the coast stopping to take in the views of Positano .
We have lots of photos from such a beautiful day . Day started at 6.30 am back at 7.30 pm

Book this tour! - Amazing day! We saw Pompeii, Positano and the Amalfi Coast. Plenty of time for shopping, and a great recommendation for lunch. Irena (sp), assisted with a lunch reservation at her favorite place, and she surprised us by being right on the water with the best seat in the house. This was definitely a tour that we enjoyed very much and it’s highly recommended! Max was the driver, and he was exceptional on the tiny roads on the Amalfi coast, which can be kind of harrowing at times.

Dina and Massimo where... - Dina and Massimo where both excellent. In Pompeii we were seamlessly handed off to Francesca for our morning tour of Pompeii. It was Clear that Dina and Francesca are very knowledgeable. We learned a great deal and had a wonderful day.

Couldn’t be any better! - I booked a private tour for a day trip to see Pompei and Amalfi Coast and Dina and Max were our guide and driver respectively. It far exceeded my expectations. Max was very professional, safe and efficient as a driver. You can tell how experienced he was, opening our doors and always welcoming us back to the van with a smile. Dina was so qualified for the position of tour guide given her extensive knowledge of the regions of Italy, experience in education and passion for the Italian culture. She went out of her way to fully educate us about the places we visited. As a bonus, she was a great photographer. The tour consisted of an efficient schedule of events that included a scenic spot to have lunch, places to take pictures, recommendation for shopping stores and some alone time. There would be no (sane) way to navigate this busy day trip without their help. Couldn’t recommend this duo more! They’re also fun!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Unforgettable Private Tour from Rome to Pompeii, Positano & Amalfi Coast! - We had the most incredible experience with our tour team — our wonderful leader Dina and our amazing drivers Massimo and Max. From start to finish, everything was seamless, professional, and so enjoyable.
Dina was an absolute star — knowledgeable, friendly, and always making sure we were comfortable and having the best time. She brought the history of each place to life and added such a personal touch that made the whole journey even more memorable.

Five Star Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Tour - We would highly recommend this fabulous tour by Mamma Mia Italy. Our family was very well cared for by very professional and friendly Max & Carola. Max navigated the busy and often tricky roads very well so as that our kid was comfortable through the trip. Carola was very friendly and coordinated the tour very efficiently. Tour was planned carefully to cover Pompeii, Positano, Amalfi while allowing enough time for breaks, snacks, lunch (they had great lunch recommendations), and taking in the views. Pompeii surpassed our expectations as a very well preserved window into Roman life and clture. Ciro was our very knowledgeable local Pompeii guide who was also great with kids. Amalfi coastlife was breathtaking. We had plenty of time to soak in the beauty, lunch, shop, and even do some limoncello tasting. Overall trip was great value for money and we will highly recommend Mamma Mia Italy for their fabulous staff, comfortable vehicles, and excellent service.

Pompei and Amalfi Coast Wonderful, Beautiful Experience! - This was the first private tour we have taken with Viator. It was a very full day that was a whole other level of experience. It was well worth the extra cost. We took multiple private tours on this Italy vacation. This was the best one in all categories.
Carolina (Trip guide) and Max (Driver) were a true team and wanted us to not only have fun, but get the most out of our tour from an information and sites experience. Max would add what he knew to the conversation and we felt very comfortable with them immediately. This was very important as you spend a FULL day with these people. We even had a local guide when we got to Pompei that got us through the site quickly and gained the most information with the time we had. Each stop has just enough time to take it in. I would say if you get car sick, this may not be the best choice as the Amalfi Coast part of the trip has winding roads. We didn't have an issue, but if you do I would do the Pompei and Naples trip.
The pre-trip communication was extremely timely and consistent.
The vehicle was comfortable, clean, and luxurious.
I highly recommend this trip and this company as your choice. I say this having experienced another company's private tours where the little and main things get taken for granted and can lessen the experience when they don't go right.
