Great Vesuvius tour - Mario was great and explained the history and the future for Vesuvius and also Julia at the volcano was also very knowledgeable. We loved that this was a small tour of 11 people. Much more personal.

Mario is AN AMAZING EXPERT GUIDE! - Amazing experience on Mount Vesuvius! I took my son to Italy for his 24th birthday and we were absolutely thrilled to have the once in a lifetime opportunity to summit Mount Vesuvius and see the caldera! Wowza! Very steep 1200 meter climb then an additional 800 meters around the top of the crater. Mario our outstanding expert guide gave us an excellent introduction to the history of this legendary volcano and he kept us safe every step of the way. There were so many kind people who have gift shops along the hike. Mario was excellent teaching me about the Mount Vesuvius wine and how it is called “Lacrima Krysti” or Tears of Christ by the locals. I bought 3 bottles of it along with a bottle of Vesuvius Limoncello! Also purchased beautiful jewelry made from the volcanic rock! What an absolutely exhilarating experience with Mario the expert guide! Thank you Askos tours! Told all my friends who now want to come hike Mt Vesuvius with Mario!

Excellent tour guide! - Mario was our guide, and he was excellent! If I could give 5-stars for him twice, I would :) He gave us lot of information about Vesuv, he cared about his group, he gave us tips for Naples also.

Mount Versuvius trip - Having Mario a trained guide enhanced the whole visit to Mount Versuvius for us. Mario was able to explain historical events, provide factual geographical information about the volcano and gave us a better understanding of the eruptions. Mario ensured that the group stayed together during the visit taking into consideration different ages and fitness levels when ascending and descending the volcano.

Just stunning - Our guide Mario was very friendly, accommodating & informative. Its a steep but manageable walk to the top. Rests a scheduled so all fitness levels are catered to. The views are spectacular but not guaranteed due to cloud cover. Really enjoyed it.

Top tour and Mario was great. I would do this tour again. I am actually doing again with Askos but to Pompeii - Top tour, a great unrushed visit to Versuvius. Mario the tour guide was excellent, very obliging and full of energy and of course had excellent knowledge of the area and the subject matter. Plus he was very funny, which made it a pleasant atmosphere. I was a little concerned about randomly meeting at the entrance to Pompeii, but it all worked out, although the Askos sign that Mario was holding was tucked under his arm cos he had a few things to do so took me a while to work out he was the guide. Had to go and ask in the end, but it was all good from there. The only minor gripe was it wasn't clear to me that they would actually drop off in Naples. So I had return train tickets from Pompeii that I did not need. It was of course great when I realised that I'd be dropped off back in Naples, and it gave me two hours back, so can't complain too much. :-) The price was reasonable, and there was no stress with tickets, we got straight in to the park area. The bus journey up the mountain was also comfortable. There was around 15-17 in the group which was fine and we all had pretty good freedom to roam and take pictures. So far the best day of my trip. I have a second tour with Askos tomorrow to see Pompeii so hopefully that's as good as this one. Best for, great views and seeing nature raw and unobscured.

Imagine yourself back in time - Today we traveled with Francesco from Naples to Mount Vesuvius. The bus was spotless, very comfortable, and we felt completely safe along the way. Afterwards, we were taken to Pompeii for a guided tour, where Vincenzo led us through this extraordinary historical city with great passion and captivating stories. Since Vincenzo is also an archaeologist involved in the excavations, he knows all the hidden gems and brings the ancient city to life with his storytelling, it truly feels like stepping back in time. A wonderful day filled with impressions educational, fascinating, and unforgettable! I can recommend this tour operator without doubt!

Spectacular Vesuvius Tour - Wonderful tour climbing up Vesuvius (from the bus drop-off point). Beautiful sunny day with spectacular views of Naples and Pompei. Our expert guide, Mario, was very knowledgeable and helpful. A high-lite was a very interesting briefing, arranged by Mario, from the resident vulcanologist while we were standing on the rim, about Vesuvius history & geology.

Mount Vesuvius cancelled - Due to adverse weather conditions, our tour was cancelled as Mount Vesuvius Park was closed. However, the team at Askos tours was very proactive in notifying us and very available to organize another more suitable activity that same afternoon, a guided tour of Herculaneum from Pompei. Well done and thank you for the Service. We will be happy to provide feedback on Herculaneum if we receive a link for this activity.

Great views from the top, slightly disappointed. - I really enjoyed viewing the crater of Vesuvius and seeing the wonderful views of Pompeii and the coast. The tour was generally well organised and we found Mario our guide at the meeting point as arranged. He was knowledgeable and friendly. I was disappointed however by the ascent to the summit. Considering this tour is advertised for 6 to 99 year olds, I don’t understand why Mario wasn’t more considerate to my age and fitness level. It soon became apparent that the other members of the group were fitter (most were a lot younger) than myself. I knew I could reach the top but not at the pace of the other members and therefore I was always lagging behind by a few minutes. There were several stops for people to catch their breath. Mario would give a talk at each of these stops. Unfortunately I didn’t get to hear any of these talks as Mario did not wait for me to catch up. When I did catch up, Mario proceeded up the hill again with the group so I didn’t get a chance to catch my breath. I don’t understand why he didn’t just wait a few minutes. I’m sure the other people in the group wouldn’t have minded. Even though I enjoyed the trip, it was somewhat marred by this situation and the way Mario handled it.
