Pokhara - Kade and Trek to Kokar
Pokhara Lakeside - The trek begins early in the morning from the hotel in Pokhara. A one-hour drive takes you to Kade, where the journey starts through Australian Camp (2100m) to enjoy the stunning views of the Annapurna range and Pokhara valley. From there, the trek continues to Deurali. Departing from the busy Annapurna Sanctuary trail, the path leads towards Kokar. This quieter section of the trail winds through a lush, green jungle. During spring, the area is adorned with vibrant blossoms, including colorful rhododendrons and other sub-alpine flowers. The trek covers 18 km and takes approximately 7-8 hours. Overnight accommodation is at a local tea house in Kokar, also known as Forest Camp.
Trekking to High Camp
Pokhara Lakeside - After a restful night at Forest Camp, the trek resumes. The path once again leads through a beautiful forest area, where wildlife such as Himalayan Thar, Mask deer, spotted deer, Barking deer, and Snow leopard may be spotted. As the ascent begins, the landscape transforms, with moss, lichen, and ferns covering the trees. An hour’s trek from Low Camp brings the trail above the treeline, offering clear views of the majestic Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. The trail continues along the ridge towards Mardi Himal. From Badal danda, the tree line is left behind, entering the alpine zone, primarily consisting of grasslands. The trek reaches High Camp (3780m), a picturesque small pasture land, where the snow-capped peaks appear very close. The entire walk covers 13 km and takes about 6 to 7 hours.
Excursion Mardi Base Camp and Trek to Middle Camp
Pokhara Lakeside - An early morning hike leads to Mardi Himal Base Camp, situated at an elevation of 4500m. The trek continues along the ridge to reach the stunning Mardi Himal Base Camp. This day can be challenging for beginners, as the trail is steep, rocky, and uneven. However, the breathtaking views provide motivation and determination to reach Mardi Himal Base Camp. From there, the magnificent Mardi Himal and Mt. Machhapuchhre, Hiuchuli, and other high mountain peaks like Annapurna I, II, and Gangapurna are visible. After exploring Mardi Base Camp, the trek returns to Middle Camp (3200m) for an overnight stay. This 6-7 hour walk covers a distance of 11 km.
Trek to Sidding from Middle Camp and Back to Pokhara
Pokhara Lakeside - Enjoy the final mountain views over breakfast in the early morning, then trek for 4 to 5 hours via Low Camp to Sidding village (1700m) or Kalimati, a bit further. A jeep ride then takes you back to Pokhara in 2 to 3 hours.
