Drive to Nayapul to Begin Your Trek. Overnight at Ulleri.
Ulleri - Travel to Nayapul to start your trek. Nayapul is about a 2-hour drive from Pokhara. After crossing the Tikhedunga Khola on a suspension bridge, the trail ascends steeply on a stone staircase with over 3200 steps. Upon reaching the top, you can see Mt. Annapurna South (7219m) and Hiunchuli (6441m). The trek from Nayapul to Ulleri (1960m) takes 4-5 hours, with an overnight stay at a lodge.
Trek to Ghorepani. Approximately 5 Hours Trek
Ghorepani - This is a delightful part of the trek, with most of the day spent walking through the jungle. In spring, the area is filled with Rhododendron flowers. There are opportunities to see various wild birds and animals, along with stunning views of snow-capped mountains. The trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani (2874m) takes about 5 hours, with an overnight stay at a lodge.
Ghorepani - Poon Hill – Tadapani - Ghandruk
Ghandruk - Start early in the morning with warm clothing to climb Poonhill (3210m). It’s not necessary to carry much, as you’ll return to collect your main rucksacks. The walk to Poonhill takes about an hour, offering the best sunrise and breathtaking views of the Himalayas, including Annapurna South, Bahari Shikhar, Hiuchuli, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri ranges, Tukuche peak, Annapurna I, II, III, IV, Lamjung Himal, Mt. Manaslu ranges, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and other mountains. After this unforgettable view, return to Ghorepani for breakfast. Trek to Ghandruk, starting with a steep uphill section to Deurali pass, which is at a similar elevation to Poonhill. Enjoy mountain views from here as well. Continue hiking down to Tadapani, then proceed to Ghandruk through Baisi Kharka (Buffalo pasture). Ghandruk is one of the largest Gurung villages, featuring a Gurung Culture Museum where you can learn about the Gurung way of life. The village also offers views of snow-capped peaks. The trek from Ghorepani to Ghandruk (1939m) takes 6-7 hours, with an overnight stay at a lodge.
Option: If reaching Ghandruk from Ghorepani in one day is challenging, you can opt to stay in Tadapani. If you stay in Tadapani, you will trek to Ghandruk the next day and then drive back to Pokhara. No extra day is needed for this option.
Drive to Lakeside, Pokhara by Public Bus
Pokhara Lakeside - On a clear morning, you may see Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Machhapuchhre (Fishtail), and Annapurna III up close. Enjoy breakfast with these views. Walk leisurely for about 10 minutes to the Ghandruk bus park, then take a 3-hour drive back to Pokhara. Overnight at your hotel in Pokhara.
