The Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the most sought-after trekking routes in Nepal. This trail reveals landscapes and cultures that vary greatly, from dense subtropical forests and rice fields, to the planet’s deepest river, ice flows, a lofty mountain pass, arid cliffs, and breathtaking mountain scenery. The trek unfolds starting from Manang, cutting through landscapes adorned with Tibetan Buddhist hamlets and forests, meandering through the Marsyangdi Valley. On the path towards the towering Thorong La Pass, trekkers can enjoy a range of mountainous scenes, featuring the Annapurna Massif, Dhaulagiri and Tilicho Peak. The trail continues beyond the pass, into Mustang and the Hindu holy town of Muktinath, then descends down the Kali Gandaki Valley, passing by the distinct and charming village of Marpha, known for its tiny monastery, narrow cobblestone streets, and apple orchards, journeying towards Tatopani’s hot springs and Poonhill’s panoramic viewpoints. From Poonhill, a vista of over 20 remarkable mountains within the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges is attainable.
