• Duklja - Just a 10-minute drive from Podgorica lies the renowned archaeological site from Roman times – Doclea. This city was strategically built between three rivers and, at one point, served as the capital of the Praevalitana Province, which encompassed the area of modern-day Montenegro. Today, the forum of this once significant Roman city features remnants of stone sculptures, columns, capitals, epitaphs, thermae, and temples. Visitors will learn about the lifestyle of ancient Romans and explore various historical periods of Podgorica and Montenegro.
• Ostrog Monastery - Located approximately 45 km from Podgorica at an altitude of 900 meters, under the steep cliff of Ostrog Mountain, this monastery is one of Montenegro’s most important and certainly the most famous and spectacular. Founded in the mid-17th century by a monk and superior of one of the eparchies of the former Serbian Orthodox Church, Vasilije, whose cult has widely spread, the monastery is now one of the most visited Orthodox spiritual centers globally. It attracts visitors from various religions. Guests will learn about the church’s role in traditional Montenegrin society, the cult of St. Vasilije, and fresco painting.
• Zeta - After visiting Ostrog and descending from the mountain, the journey continues through the Zeta nature park, which encompasses the valley of the river of the same name. This area is designated as such due to its stunning landscape and rich biodiversity.
