A Sweet Experience with the Best Guide MARY!! - Our chocolate-making class in Costa Rica was one of the absolute highlights of our trip, and that’s entirely thanks to Mary! From the moment we arrived, her warm energy, deep knowledge, and passion for both chocolate and Costa Rican culture shone through. She didn’t just teach us how chocolate is made—she told the story of cacao, from its ancient roots to its modern-day magic. Mary made the experience interactive, engaging, and incredibly fun for everyone in the group. Whether it was explaining the fermentation process or helping us perfect our handmade truffles, she was patient, enthusiastic, and incredibly informative. Her love for what she does is infectious, and she made us feel like more than just tourists—we felt like part of something meaningful. Plus, the chocolate we made was delicious (and we have Mary’s expert guidance to thank for that!). Great time, highly recommend! - Absolutely wonderful experience! They have a small “orchard” of cocao trees. You lliterally learn everything from tree to finished chocolate. Mary and Heydi were wonderful, very knowledgeable, funny and interactive. You can participate in the old way of processing chocolate as well as learn about its origins. This is our 2nd chocolate class, the first one in Puerto Rico, and was by far the most informative. Would recommend to anyone looking for something enjoyable and different here in Costa Rica. Plus you get to sample tons of fresh chocolate 🩵

Good experience - My wife and I chose to do this during our visit since it’s unlike activities we’ve seen/done before. This was different for us because we usually go for the more adventurous stuff, but we had a good time. Our tour guide Mary was fun, friendly, knowledgeable, and spoke English very well. I’d recommend this to anyone looking for a more laid back experience.

Delicious chocolate! - Our guide Mary was super sweet and knowledgeable. We started off looking at cacao trees and went on to make our own chocolate. Learned some history. Everything was delish and playful. Heidi was cheffing it up and everything came out amazing. Great guides loved the overall experience!

Cacao Educational Experience - Danny and Heidi showed us how the plants grow, flower, and produce cacao. Then we learned to shell the roasted beans, blow off the shells, grind the cacao, extract the butter, and make cacao powder. We also learned how inferior milk chocolate and white chocolate are.

Very interesting! - This tour was very interesting! Mary was very dynamic and even used the words she knew in French to entertain our son who doesn’t speak English or Spanish. We also had the chance to taste the cocoa bean at the different stages of the process and to taste some good hot chocolate. We learned a lot! Thank you!
