Situated on the edge of a 2,500 foot wall lies the castle known locally as El Castillo this overlooks the Caribbean sea and is a great opportunity for photos here.
You can also view the Temple of Frescoes, one of the most preserved buildings remaining; The Temple of the Descending God, and The House of the Columns. After your time in the Tulum Mayan Ruins, you’ll hop back on your bus, return to Playa del Carmen, and enjoy a ferry ride back to Cozumel.

It’s ok for a ruin tour, not a great beach stop - The tour guide was great, the transportation worked out, but they switched drivers a few times and it was a little inconvenient, the beach part of this excursion left something to be desired, we were rushed and beach was small and crowded

Tulum is great. This tour - not! - We tried repeatedly to contact the vendor operating this tour to find out where to meet. We finally got an email at 2 am the night before the trip. They said they had contacted us (they hadn't ) saying the timing wasn't going to work out with our cruise ship. We had checked the timing, and we had plenty of time. Anyway we got the email saying the trip was canceled. Since we were on a cruise ship we didn't see the email.
So we found a taxi, (Manuel) who took us to Tulum and back. Tulum was great. We enjoyed seeing it.

A bust - Never received pickup location information so unable to go. Tried to reach out to operator but got voicemail. Unfortunate. Would have loved to see the ruins

Terrible communication - Couldn’t join because the ferry schedule didn’t align with ship’s arrival in port. Excursion was canceled on me accordingly without notification on the day of docking. Had to scramble to find another tour to Tulum last minute as this was the entire reason for booking this itinerary. Still waiting for the promised refund to show up.
