Superb small group tour - This may not be the cheapest tour to Chichen Itza, but it's definitely true that "you get what you pay for" This was a five star trip from the start. We were picked up from our accommodation bang on time and had a fantastic day with our guide Miguel and driver Rodrigo. This was a small group tour, only 8 of us. The focus was definitely on learning the culture and history of Mayan life. No forced trips to shops and markets. The all you can eat buffet lunch was excellent and we had plenty of time to explore and learn about Chichen Itza and Ek Balam. Miguel was a great guide, giving us lots of info, taking great photos and not pushing anyone to buy things they didn't want, as some larger and cheaper tours often do. We had a great, albeit long day, but definitely worth it. Rodrigo was a superb and safe driver too. Highly recommended.

Consider this option for visiting Mayan ruins - Well organized tour. Arrived at Chichen Itza just after opening which beats the crowds arriving on big buses. All three stops were well planned out and the tour guide and driver provided lots of information. Our tour had 12 people which was a very manageable size for these locations. The visit to EK BALAM was well worth the time and effort of the tour company. We arrived and nearly had the park to ourselves. We were able to climb two of the structures.

Impressive Maya culture - The day tour was very nice with Miguel as our guide. Miguel enjoyed his job and showed passion for the Maya ruins and cultures. We learnt so much from him and really enjoyed the tour. The reason I gave four stars to the tour is because of operational issues from the tour company’s website. The website was confusing and was not consistent with the information they sent us. Long story short, we found that our hotel in Tulum was on their hotel pickup list. We selected the hotel on the list and received the tour tickets showing that we will be picked up from that hotel. However, in the afternoon before the tour day, the operator told us that there was no hotel pickup service in Tulum and everyone in Tulum should go to the meeting point at Super Aki at 7am. After several text exchanges, we realized there was no way to solve the issue in such little time. If we knew there was no hotel pickup service in Tulum during the booking, we would have selected another hotel near the Super Aki meeting point so that we did not have to walk in the dark for 20 to 25 minutes to reach the meeting point. Hope the company will provide correct booking information for the pickup service in the future.
